The B1G wanted east coast markets with high population for their new TV network. Those schools had to be academically reputable as well

So what does the Big XII want again? They're not getting a TV network, we know that much. What is their identity?? Pick an identity, divide by divisions with what you have, and then it should start to clarify who to add. Football powers? Flagship Universities? markets? Academics? Basketball?? Geography? What is the Big XII??

EV, your beef smells a little rotten. B12 is a P5 and wants it to stay that way. They want to survive and fight on. That's good enough.

Instead of loose food analogies, define what the Big XII is? What is the identity of the Big XII?

The SEC is the football strong, regional southern conference.

The B1G is the academic, regional northern conference.

The ACC is the eastern conference, Basketball power

The PAC 12 is the western conference

The Big XII is the [fill in the blank].

Pick an identity, and who you should expand with will make more sense. If they don't need markets, than do they need Houston or Cincinnati? Do they want football power? Do they want basketball power(UConn)? Is academics a factor at all (Tulane??)

The expansion of the Big XII is for one reason- To secure the conference enough to allow Oklahoma and Texas to leave and blame it on the reputations of new Big XII members.

Your analogy fails because it assumes the B12 is a single entity with a unified purpose. While ISU, KSU, OKST, TT, TCU and BAY might want the conference to survive long term, I don't get the impression UT and OU want to commit to anything beyond the GOR.

The Big 12 is pathetic.

You just proved the other side's point.

That was 13 years ago....the ACC played it out in the media. Since then...they along with the SEC and B1G announced new teams without a sideshow.

BC was added a year later and Cuse took their hats out of the race and BC jumped on the opportunity.

How is looking into all the candidates mean you have no identity? If they rushed and just added two you'd be dogging them for that, now they are actually talking to candidates and doing due diligence and you dog them for that. Admit it, no matter what you'd dog the conference because thats all you ever wanted to do. There was nothing they could do you wouldn't complain about.
