Everything you say about IUFB is true I'm not arguing it. The program has been utter dog ish the past few decades. I've admitted it in my posts. All I'm saying is I'm not talking about the past I'm taking about the present. We've finally put in an appropriate amount of investment. Still have a LONG way to go. It wasn't until this 2016 offseason that we invested in the coaching staff. Our assistant coaching salaries were embarrassingly pathetic. We finally have a legitimate B1G staff now. We have solid facilities which we are making big investments in and we are putting guys in the League over the last few seasons.

Once again, I am not trying to defend IUFB's history. I'm one of its harshest critics and I wouldn't even believe how the program has turned itself around if I was an outsider. Last year was a blast to watch. We played some very good teams on prime-time national TV very tough, made a bowl, and got a lot of positive attention from the national media for being well coached and a tough team. I'm excited for the future.

As far as the insults flung at IUBB. You are right again. I am embarrassed by the Sampson violations. It's taken a long time but Crean has us finally back to a respectable status. We beat UK and had a good run. We are only going to be better this year and have a lot of talent. We are a top ten team going in and are not reliant on freshmen. I'm hopeful we'll return to being an elite program, but it's still a work in progress. However, we are always one championship away from being back and we'll have as good a chance as any this year. We are still a top attendance basketball school so we still have that...

Back to your argument: there are only 300K people in the city proper. If you want to claim that based on your eyeball test, I'll take your word for it I obviously don't live there (still haven't seen any data or facts you're presenting). Great, happy to hear you want Cincy and its 300K to break away. I like to stick to the data and hard facts of a relevant set of information. It is a total metropolitan which is important.

Congrats on UC's success in the mid-2000s. This isn't about IU. We're not trying to get into a P5 conference. Cincy is the one that needs to prove it can deliver the Southern Ohio area to the Big 12 which based on the data I don't see any indication it can. But outside of BYU, Houston and UConn, no G5 can deliver its home market

It's all good. My North Carolina family thinks I'm pretty cool ... for an Ohioan, I guess. My wife's family is from Goldsboro ... They are Lucas' ... as in Frank Lucas. Most of that side is in D.C. now, but still got love for my North Carolina fam! Was down there for a funeral last year ... out in the middle of freaking nowhere ... but some good peeps down there. I have no hatred for the South.

our TV ratings in the Big East on Thur night fb when we were ranked playing other ranked Big East teams were really high. Point is...get Texas or OU to Nippert (or many other teams in the B12) and get UC back up to 10 wins a year and you will see good ratings. People like a winner. So posting ratings from lY is pointless and proves ZERO
UC delivered the cincy market when we were good...go back and find the data. We sucked last year and we are in a POS conference. Your home attendance would suck too if you were in a crap conference. True story. My buddy's ex was from Cincy and thats how she referred to where she was from. One of only a couple of cool Ohioans Ive known personally. The rest were douchenozzle OSU fans or Rustbelt refugees who talked about Ohio all the time and how they did stuff back home.

Since you took it there. You must be from Butler/Warren/Clermont County. Hamilton County (your so called bastion of conservatism in Ohio) did vote for Obama in both 2008 and 2012 (the horror). ... Clifton may be the bluest point of actual Cincinnati, too, lol.

That really has no bearing on this conversation other than calling you out for being flat-out wrong.

As for UC, while I think you are way ahead of yourself in believing that Hamilton County (or Southwest Ohio) is more popular than Ohio State, I do think the school could cement itself as the clear No. 2 school in that market. But Dayton, for example, is all OSU, and it is SWO's counter to Akron-Canton in Cleveland (and at least Akron-Canton is in the Cleveland TV market, unlike Dayton which is it's own TV market).

Basically, if you think that UC can be a B12 school by just being Hamilton/Butler/Warren/Clermont heavy, you're in for an Iowa State-like wake up call. You aren't going to clean up all the Cincinnati area kids ... cough cough Sam Hubbard, Justin Hilliard (why didn't either of those core Cincy kids chose UC if the market is all UC?). And even if you somehow do end up getting those kids, that area doesn't produce enough talent on its own (without the overall draw of "Ohio") to compete in the Big 12. As much as you hate to believe it, UC needs to embrace "Ohio" in order to compete.

Ask people from Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, Akron, etc. etc. "where are you from" and they will say "Ohio".

Ohio sans Cincy is a liberal, Ohio State Buckeye state.

Cinci is a conservative, Bearcat city. Most folks from Cincy wish Cincy could break off from Ohio and form its own city-state.

Put another way...that super lame "OH-IO" crap Buckeyes do doesn't fly in Cincy...we don't do it and we think its dumb.

True story. My buddy's ex was from Cincy and thats how she referred to where she was from. One of only a couple of cool Ohioans Ive known personally. The rest were douchenozzle OSU fans or Rustbelt refugees who talked about Ohio all the time and how they did stuff back home.

I see this crap or OSU plates all the time down here in Charlotteand Raleigh (where I grew up). Just go home if its so great.

I've got some great friends in Ohio (Columbus and Cleveland are fun towns) but unfortunately some truth to that. Living in Charlotte there are a crap load of Cleveland and Akron peeps. You'd think they believe they descended from heavan to bless us with their winning personality. If Ohio is so great, wonderful what the hell are you doing here? I'm originally from NJ, I'll be the first to admit NJ and PA is dirty and full of rude people who all they do is ***** about the weather, jobs, thier miserable life and taxes.
