So I have a question or statement.

I've been approached at work and asked "I want to/would buy a season ticket or two, but you would think UAB would be advertising them?" My response "Yeah, you would."

"Now UAB starts back next year, right?"
"Yes, 2018"
"I haven't heard or seen anything about tickets"
"Yeeeeah. They're taking deposits and you can go on the athletic website. It's a bit confusing, but keep clicking on football."

Why are we, the fans and boosters, having to do more soliciting than our athletic department?

UaB has done, or hasn't done may be more accurate, the exact opposite things it needed to do to capitalize on the return of UaB Football.

Things have been so mismanaged for so long, It no longer feels accidental.

This is a big problem. The athletic department needs to proactively push season tickets with a user friendly online access point.

Starting to think its all a sham; that the Big12 is using this whole thing to get more money from Fox and ESPN to stay at 10. Word is Fox and ESPN are discussing sweetening the pot for the B12 if they stay at 10. Afterall, expansion could cost Fox and ESPN and extra $80M-$100M

Brett McMurphy reported today that the candidates are up to 20 with UNLV and Rice now on the list. He offered a great explanation as to why so many schools being in the mix. He said only Cincinnati Houston and BYU are seriously being considered. The rest are being contacted and courted ad a courtesy. They are dealing with presidents and schmoozing presidents could pay off in the long run when dealing with the NCAA etc.

There is a Memphis poster that is fairly confident (according to his inside sources) that Cincinnati and Memphis are the 11th and 12th team that the Big 12 will invite to the conference.

Word in Memphis is that the big money boosters are very confident they are getting in. Problem is they aren't making the decision.

McMurphy also said he believed that if Big 12 takes two AAC schools, they would probably go after San Diego St and Boise State again. Or if they lose a strong basketball program, they might go after Wichita State. Otherwise he said there are no other good options
