Any idea what portion of the campus it might be?

I didn't think any area of campus could. That would be very cool

I don't know enough to verify everything yet, but it's my understanding that there is a piece of land that doesn't fall under the umbrella. It's early yet and there's a lot of things that have to fall into place.

UNCW will have to figure out a way to rebuild the stadium with their own money somehow is my guess. Maybe some rich alums will step up and get it going. The place is not up to snuff for the program that plays there.
Wilmington squandered a great chance to have minor league baseball and it could be 20 years before another chance comes this way. To many haters here to make it happen.

Something is in the works on building and sharing a stadium with a minor league team. Too early to know if it may work out. But, if there is land available without the alcohol restrictions. And it's on or attached to campus, it's a win win.

RE: Hawks hoops to offer cost of attendance
This is what the Chancellor had to say when asked by the star news about a minor league team in Wilmington at the beginning of the month,

“There have been a lot of discussions in the past. Nothing serious really. There have been some discussions about different (pro) leagues and that kind of stuff, but whether that will ever happen, we’re not doing any of that now. I’ve been contacted a couple times, and then it kind of evaporated. It was like just all talk. Nothing serious. I would jump into it if was something serious, yes. I’d like to consider it, but that’s where it is now. There’s nothing at this stage, at least that I know, having to do with any of that. That doesn’t mean that tomorrow there couldn’t be something.”

I don't see how it works on the UNCW campus for a pro team. Its not a very good location as far as a stadium goes-other than a UNCW stadium. Downtown is the location that might work according to the study done back when Bobby Cox and friends were trying it. I would like to see it happen but I doubt that ever happens. If they ask the citizens of Wilmington to help pay it will get shot down. The Landfall haters will make sure it dies a horrible and public death.
