Texans and Astros thumbing their nose at local colleges Part 2
From the people that brought you Rice and UH not being invited to the Astros College classic, SMG and the Texans announced today that Ole Miss and Texas Tech will be playing at SMG in 2018 on the same date as the Bayou Bucket at Rice Stadium. In a related note, I root for the Texans to go 0-16 every year.

Am I missing something but how can Rice play in the Astros Collegs series if they have games already scheduled during the Astros College series?

He's talking about next year. The Classic is Big 12 vs. SEC themed. Neither UH nor Rice were invited.

Well, we had to schedule games because the Astros didn't invite us.

We have two years to get better than TT and make ours a better match-up.

I don't think you can fault SMG. They're just trying to get games played at NRG. I mean UH is there this fall against Oklahoma and we have games there in the future obviously against Texas and LSU in 2019, and 2020. I guess if they deliberately scheduled the game to compete against the Bayou Bucket, that would be one thing. But my guess is they weren't even aware of the conflict. Plus, let's be honest, no one is going to go to both games anyway even if they are at different times.

The Texans have been fair to Rice in the past, drafting a lot of Rice guys. Case Keenum had his chance with them as well.

It might be interesting if the Big12 decided to take on the SEC directly... Adding both Rice and UH and having UT and OU in town every year (right in the A&M's back yard)

McNair lets us use the bubble whenever we would have a practice rained out. Wasn't he on the Rice BOT at one time also ?
