I'll start with a few and people can add more issue they are passionate about.

Overall - Libertarian with Republican leanings.

Economics - If the private sector can do it then the government shouldn't -in most cases arguments can be made for certain industries.

Gay rights - Don't flaunt it in my face and your fine I don't give two ***** what people do. Out of sight out of mind.

Marriage - get Federal Government out of marriage and let it be a contract between the Partners. There should be no benefit to being married. Solves a lot of "Gay rights" issue there. leave it to the states to decide.

Taxes - I really like Owl69's Plan that he has touted on here once or twice. but elimination of the income tax must precede it or i can easily see us with both.

Education - Charter/ Privatize the Public school system. There needs to be reform but i don't have a slightest idea on how to go about all i know it we need to hit the reset button

Abortion - Abortion should be illegal except in cases of Rape, incest and life of Mother to a Point (everything should be done to save both Mother and Baby if it is feasible to do so Earliest baby to live is something like 24 weeks). I have no issue with using contraceptives.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. I with you all the way.

Milton Friedman best summed up my philosophy:

“Government has three primary functions. It should provide for military defense of the nation. It should enforce contracts between individuals. It should protect citizens from crimes against themselves or their property. When government-- in pursuit of good intentions tries to rearrange the economy, legislate morality, or help special interests, the cost come in inefficiency, lack of motivation, and loss of freedom. Government should be a referee, not an active player.”

I think you're on to something there. many people that style themselves a libertarian simply like the word, and have next to no understanding of what that word actually means. it's something of a Millennial fetish; they think it means "I'm a non-comformist", and look at it as a platform from which they can condemn the entire political class and much of the social order with impunity.

The problem with the Libertarian Party is that libertarianism has so many different schools have thought. These subgroups represent distinct ideologies as opposed to variations of the same theme. For example there are:

Right Libertarians
Left Libertarians
Socialist Libertarians
Geolibertarians
Anarcho- Capitalists
Miniarchists

I am sure there are others.
