yeah. I can't imagine who in their right mind would want to major in education coming right out of high school. we need some of our talent going to that sector and yet people are being actively discouraged not to by the sad state it is in.
Easing up on credentials would be a start. Not sure why my son's 2nd grade teacher needs to go into debt for a degree, but it would be a well paying job if she didn't have one.

I met a teacher here that teaches with my wife that Georgia is one of the most over saturated teacher markets in the nation with just two schools in Georgia, out of like 8, supplying all the teachers the state requires. Also, you have a bunch of out of state schools feeding that market too.

That's pretty nasty.

Separation of school and state.

Eventually, it will happen.

I have classmates who got straight As, and they went to college just to dropped out and never got their degree.

so to be clear. you are officially anti-public schools?

Only a narrow-minded fool would think that.

My official position is this: public schools can do some great good and also be a huge waste of taxpayer money. I have seen it firsthand.

I was homeschooled along with my brothers and we all attended Christian schools. I am high honor roll at my College and my middle brother is a cadet at West Point.
We are doing pretty well without public school (a shock to many poor unfortunate souls).

And yes, I know that West Point is technically public, I am of course referring to elementary, middle and high school.

So did you go to a private school or were you home schooled, or were you back and forth between the two?

Public school, then homeschooled, then high school.

well when you make such a dumb comment implying self education and home schooling as the alternative to a failed public education sector how is it unreasonable think that is your stance?

Afraid to debate the rest of my comment?

I forgot with who I am dealing with. Of course, you think public school has to be used, it is the government. Got to have more of it. Can't let people exist without it.

By the looks of your grammar skills, you probably attended a failed public school.

I didn't take his comment as implying anything, just offering an alternative. Nothing wrong with that.

Then high school what? Public? Private?

Common sense based off my posts would say private and it was private.

In the world of message board posting it is my observation that one should never assume anything.
