A Little Birdie Just Told Me...
Big 12 is deciding between 2 or 4 teams.

Houston and BYU are in for sure.

If they decide to go to 4 teams, it will be Cincy and SMU... SMU beats out Memphis because of academics and late pressure from Texas politicians. The academic and Texas card was played.

I am told they are most likely to reach a compromise of only adding two teams, to keep the TV money happy...but nearly half do want to add Cincy and SMU.

Will be interesting, either way, congrats to Houston.

BYU and BSU...the only teams that have their own TV contracts, because they are the only non P5 teams that are considered to bring value by the networks.

Why would TV want these two when they already have them on contact for less money.

RE: A Little Birdie Just Told Me...
Sorry but I don't believe this.. Iowa state and wvu have publicly hinted they already feel they too Texas heavy...

I can honestly see them being forced to do 1 but I see zero percent chance SMU getting in

SMU has no chance based around being 20 minutes from Dallas and SMU has sucked in football
There is no logical reason they'd add SMU..
Your birdie is either a flugur/tuxedo yoga type person, or a booster who is being told what he wants to hear ..

Boise isn't even being considered... Navy and army has its own TV deal... The Navy and army TV deal is worth more than byu and Boise
.your entire statement is completely wrong on every level

Are you kidding me? Army is a joke and Navy, of which I'm a fan, hasn't been a BCS buster or won any BCS/major bowls in eons. When was the last time they won a Championship? Over half a century ago? At least BYU had one in the '80s. Sorry, but BYU and BSU's TV contract is a much hotter commodity than Navy and Army's. The only thing they have of value is the Army/Navy game and that's it. I like how people on here think underperforming teams like SMU, etc. deserve the invite more than BSU and BYU...unbelievable! smh

becuasse all of boise and byu are 3-4 millions, the army navy game alone is projected 5-7 million in 2018..not including the navy nd game or the navy airforce game

those are 3 guaranteed broadcast games ON Saturday...the tv networks didnt give byu or boise a single broadcast game, and air all their controlled games on espn2 on fridays

but tv networks clearly love puting their second tier content broadcast..smh you are completely wrong on this

What?? Now you are making stipulation!!
Youre saying only this part of the contract counts.. Last I checked you said byu and BoiseKate worth the most to the TV providers.. Guess what army/Navy is part of navy's TV worth

Your statement was wrong

And I'd bet money Navy vs Notre Dame (which is played at a different National location every year) and navy vs air force would be worth more than the six games from Boise or byu ..

Navy and air force have both been invited to the big 12 and have an open invitation.. Air force and Navy turned them down because they said there is no way they could compete

On field performance is not the top reason that schools get selected. Remember that University Presidents make these decisions - not ADs, coaches, sports writers or fans.

Rutgers had terrible FB and BB for years.
