RE: BJCC/Uptown land development proposed
I've had a blast at every D&B I've ever been to with my twins. I don't drink then I'm there, but I have a blast playing the games. When I throw back a beer or ten, I'm more apt to visit one of our breweries, the same breweries some of Yall have an issue with for some reason. For those who don't like it, stay at home. There are plenty of people in B'ham to support it.

I've never heard anyone on here have an issue with our breweries. Where did you hear that?

Slant, I mispoke. When I said that, I thought I was replying to an Al.com article. Lol
On there, people are mad when B'ham doesn't have something. Then, they're mad when B'ham has something but it costs more than they think it should. IE, breweries. Now that B'ham is a brewery heaven, some people complain that a local beer costs more than their PBR. Lol

If not, I don't understand how this is relevant to UAB. To stay on topic however, I don't really understand adding a golf themed entertaininment venue to Uptown. I know golf is an extremely popular sport, especially in Bham, but wouldn't a place like Dave and Busters that would appeal to a wider range of people be a better option? I dunno, the Uptown District is clearly better than what came before it (nothing) but the choice of tenants has been a bit perplexing.
Top Golf would be great for Uptown. These are extremely popular in other major cities. I'm not a golfer, but have been to the one where I live near Houston several times as a team building activity for the company I work for. I've even considered buying land in downtown Birmingham and trying to work a business deal with Top Golf to build one there. Looks like someone else is already doing it.
Top Golf is a big deal. There is one in Midtown Atlanta. It attracts a ton of corporate group business.
