RE: All things AAC
The biggest problem I see with moving to the AAC is the travel. Assuming Houston and either Memphis or Cincinnati leaves, most of the remaining schools are not close. Our non-conference away schedule has typically been long travel time. However, I believe there will remain enough quality teams to justify the jump. Also, I believe overall the remaining teams have better name recognition (i.e. Navy, SMU, Tulane) than most MAC teams. This would especially be true if Toledo jumped.

If it's gonna be any two, it'll be UH and UC. Bank on that. BYU is a headache and Memphis is out as has been publicly stated

Did you just go on Paint and start drawing arbitrary lines?
Uh yeah, well not completely arbitrary I was trying to show a general trend of the two conferences.
How did I miss this graph before!
It all changes on 1/1/2019.
Wow I missed this gem too.
After arguing over and over that the MAC is on par with the AAC I'm glad that he showed that the AAC is clearly better.

Until 2019 when PJ and WMU are winning their third national title and every single AAC schools discovers the travel costs have been very high this whole time and through some type of accounting error at each school they never caught it. The AAC then disbands since each university has gone completely broke by being in such an overrated conference that is basically just a linear conference to every other G5 conference anyway. The MAC is then invited to be the 6th power conference after WMU, CMU, and Toledo all make the playoff.

Just a reminder, UC leaving is what we need for our best chance at the AAC
Could easily be photoshopped, but I guess we find out later.

RE: All things AAC
Are we STILL talking about a conference move with a 1-9 record in our last 10 games and attendance of 8,495 at our last game? I'm sure the AAC is drooling at the prospect of a mediocre to bad MAC team in a TV market that couldn't care less about them joining their conference.

We just came off a crazy-long success streak, and after half of a bad season we now wear the label of a "bad Mac team"? I'm sure the powers that be look more at the overall strengths of the program, market size, etc., and not last weeks score when making these type of long-range decisions.
Sucking temporarily does not help, but the potential of our program has been shown and the size of our media market is not changing.
Replace Carey with a coach that has some moxie, improve the stadium, ask the unsightly BLM protestors to move their business to WBB games

I dont think we will crap the bed... We made it a somewhat close game with WMU (clear access bowl participant and top 10 team per MD fact based analysis). Will we find a way to shoot ourselves in the foot and lose? Of course. But we wont get killed.

What difference would it make if we crap the bed and fans don't show up? People on this board have already anointed us as the next member of the AAC even with our terrible record and abysmal attendance. The only thing that matters is that we are in the Chicago TV market, where millions of fans will be glued to their TVs to watch our games.

I bet you would see a VERY fancy urinal trough upgrade if we made the AAC... a super fancy one that tells you if you drink too much pop and lay off the pork rinds =)
Think of it DF... think of all the urinal troughs possibilities
