We've built a new baseball stadium, varsity village, renovated Nippert, and are doing likewise at the Shoe. Even hire a B12 AD and Head FB coach. The case has been made that this has been due to discussions and in preparation to move to a P5 since the rug was pulled out of the BE with Syracuse and Pitt. And I've Heard NO UC fan say this would guarantee a UC invite.

Actually Memphis discussions with these teams goes back to the SWC. We were all but in before it went defunct.

It's all relative or they're all relatives?

I'm not saying the family trees in WV don't branch off, they just remind me more of a palm tree than an oak.

TV market may not be as big as others on list, but it is a CFB TV market. People in Memphis watch college football in larger numbers than the other markets..

I'm just wondering how much CFB the New York area watches and who their favorite team is. I'm betting it's Notre Dame

I'm guessing Penn State or Notre Dame, but that whoever owns the tri-state metro plurality, no single fanbase is above 10% of the overall market share.

It's probably such a small percentage because of the number of pro sports teams in the area. The favorite college team maybe be ND, whatever school has the most transplants in NYC, or the biggest bandwagon (Alabama?)

They took TCU and WVU.

Apparently we were #11 last go round too.

Honestly think they'd take UConn over SMU. Tulane could conceivably have a better shot.

In regards to Tulane in all of this, they were one of the three schools that were serious candidates when Louisville was trying to get in(before they jumped to the ACC).

Tulane has potential with a funding windfall and another outpost in SEC territory. Would be good for Memphis. I'd want them over Houston to be honest as it expands the footprint with creating an island, ties in with Memphis.

Memphis, Cincy, Tulane, and UCF would be my choices.

Who doesn't want to travel to Orlando during non peak season and hit a park up as well or combine a 3 or 4 day cruise to the Bahamas with it.

Tulane is a conference killer. Besides they suck in football and basketball.
