With the exception of the following out of conference good opponents , not great by any imagination , playing at MAC schools listed below,

WKU at Miami
Fresno St at UT
Georgia Southern at WMU
App St. at Akron

Gone are the likes of MSU at Central, Okie St at WMU, Missouri at UT, Pitt at OU, just to name a few outstanding teams visiting MAC schools in the past few years, nothing this year jumps out at you as far as marque programs playing at MAC schools.

San Diego State is playing @NIU this year. Not great, but pretty good.

Look at future years schedule. Power conferences are closing us out

Just a scheduling fluke or another indication that the P5 intends to distance itself from the G5? I suspect the latter....not really so different than MAC teams refusing to play an away game against a FCS school.

NIU does have Boston College in DeKalb in 2017, Utah in 2018, BYU in 2020. Though I don't know the odds of those games being bought out before they happen....
