CUSA-TV subscription service update
Several schools have listed games to be streamed on CUSA-TV. UTEP, FAU, Charlotte among them and I'm sure there will be more. I was wondering about on demand viewing so I asked their twitter account and received this back:

MinerInWisconsin ‏@MinerInWis · 9h9 hours ago

@CUSA_TV Will the live FB games this fall also be available on demand later and if so, for how long?

CUSA.TV
‏@CUSA_TV
@MinerInWis Hi there, all live events broadcast on #CUSATV will be available for on-demand archived viewing after its conclusion! Thanks!

I'm so disgusted with this new media deal. Our media day was a joke. I can only imagine how bad coverage will be this season.

I hope the presidents can get together and fire MacLeod.

So let me see if I have this straight. If you subscribe to the service, they will only be available to subscribers on demand or everyone?

If I understand the response to MinerInWisconsin, paying for CUSA.TV means you get their live games and once the game is over you can re-watch that game as on-demand content.

If they operate like previously, non-subscribers do not have access to live or on-demand content.

This is what I believe to be correct. I will be trying it out in Sept and if the quality is good I will pay monthly thru mbb season so that I can watch live and on demand games to my hearts content. Then I'll cancel for 6 months and start up again in Sept 2017 if the situation remains the same.

I could see paying for baseball if it's covered. UTEP really needs a baseball team.

Is there a one time yearly option? If so, is it possibly less than paying monthly for the entire 6 months?

I'm not even joking. I didn't realize we had any coverage at media day until this post.

My high school gets as much coverage just from the likes on facebook.

$99 per year and $11 per month. Makes no sense to me to pay by the year when 6 months of it has almost no content, at least for my school.

RE: CUSA-TV subscription service update
Per the Charlotte board, CUSA officials elected not to purchase the Roku app.

Your methods of viewing will be:

1) Supported browser (no definitive list. Their site does seem to be using HTML 5, which is more widely supported).

2) Chromecast

3) An android app called TV Cast - which has to be setup properly and has varying degrees of success.

The sales pitch from the league office that ESPN3 was going to be carrying so many of our games was a bald faced lie. Most of the league content is going to be on CUSA.TV which only has an app for one streaming device or gaming system, and the league decided not to pay for it.

Welcome to Pay Per View football on your phone or tablet. Exactly how I want to spend my money and 4 hours of my time - squinting at a phone screen while my 65" 4k TV, in front of my plush sofa, sits idle. Also, the pay per view model should bring in loads of new fans.

Yes, I am a little butthurt about our joke of a TV deal and its "amazing exposure". Fire Judy.

If they're stupid enough to not even get the Roku app, nevermind the FireTV/AppleTV/etc apps, then I've lost all confidence in this administration to get things done right on the streaming end of things.

Could you link to where on Charlotte's board it's discussed? Can't seem to find it myself.

No money and decent tv coverage would be better than this deal. At this point, individual schools should sell and distribute their own content.

It's from a copy and paste of Sidearm's response to one of ours guys toward the bottom of the page.

According to an article about La Tech a month or so ago, this is possible.

I emailed Sidearm to ask about Apple TV since that is what I have or native smart TV streaming. They confirmed that CUSA declined to pay for Roku streaming. What I found odd, and frankly disappointing, is they don't develop for Apple TV or Fire TV/Stick.

Here is the response I got back from Sidearm:

I really hope this CUSA TV thing crashes and burns quickly and the conference can find a way to get the inventory on ESPN3.

Total agreement on this one Blue.. this just seemed like a no-brainer. ANd our conference techie gurus screwed this one up?

How do you FRAK this simple step?

It was probably like $200k. They would have spent an entire year of TV revenue on an app. 03-lmfao
