going to be tough tho: #10 vs "also receiving votes"
ULM beat #8 Arkansas to start the season and was not ranked after that week. We were receiving a lot of votes though. We followed it the next week with an OT loss to Auburn that we should have won. Had we won that game we would have been ranked. App might would get ranked beating UT though because you are already receiving votes. ULM came kind of out of left field.

I remember you took Baylor down to the wire that year as well. You guys lining up two QB's at once was really confusing teams early on. For what it's worth, you guys came out of left field and promptly left the field shortly after. Any team that does that well in OOC games should have won the conference, but I feel like you guys lost two or three conference games. You guys beat Alabama in 2007 and didn't follow it with a great season either.

They're so lousy they are the most overlooked team in the land every year?

Maybe?

Baylor was the game following Auburn and we lost like 44-42 or something in a shootout. Also we only ran the two QB thing a few times. The rest of the season came down to injuries. Once Browning got hurt we lost until he came back. Finished 8-4. By the way, some act like we are SBC cellar dwellers every year. We are usually top half of conference barring last year or so. Viator will bring us back.

How many of those teams ahead play a top 10 team. A team recieving a few more votes right now winning against a bad FCS still staying ahead is not how it works. Opponent matters

Other than that pretty standard.

App is set up perfect to crack the top 25 with a week one "upset". Nothing to do but to do it.

THis is Notre Dame's highest preseason ranking in nearly a decade.

Houston at #13 is the highest G5 preseason I can remember since Boise was in the Top 10. If they beat OU week one, watch their ranking then.

Touche, but to further my point of their name getting them in

In 2008 end up unranked at 7-6 yet crack the 2009 top 25 preseason finished unranked

In 2010 finished unranked at 8-5 yet 18th preseason 2011 finished unranked

2011 8-5 unranked but crack preseason 2012 top 25. Finally earned it but gets exposed by Bama

2014 8-5 unranked makes preseason top 11 25 2015.

10-3 last year, wins three game to unranked teams by less than a score, only beat one top 25 team last year in Navy and get curbed stomped by Ohio state to finish the year, yet they are preseason top 10.

The shine came off after the Bama beat down but it appears it is shining again. I Wake Forest went 10-3 last year with ONE top 25 win against a G5 and got beat down by a legit team in a bowl you think they get a top 10 pre season ranking? Who else would get that kind of benifit of the doubt with no NC's since 1988? I dont think Alabama would get top 10 coming off that kind of season.
