Really impressed with women's track and field recruiting class
The 2016 and 2016-17 cross country and track and field rosters were updated yesterday, and it appears we're bringing in one of our strongest recruiting classes in years. Among the new Owls are...

Hannah Bablak - a distance runner from PA who was a state champ there (2:14.34 800/5:03.99 1600)
Michelle Fokam - a LJ/TJ/Sprinter from Katy who made state (11.93 100/18-10 1/2 LJ/40-11 TJ)
Camille Little - a sprinter from Michigan (Mass?) (11.94 100/24.73 200/18-1 1/4 LJ)
Khayla Patel - a distance runner from Memorial - another state competitor (17:41 5K, 4:37.98 1500)
Zinedine Russell - not sure but might be heptathlete from Jamaica with a best of 4834 points?
Kylie Swiekatowski - a PV from Wisconsin - another state champ (12-7)
Christie Terhune - another state competitor from Katy who qualified for state in both the 800 (2:10.76) and 300H (42.80).

Add these new athletes to some of the ones coming back (Roper, Ding, Racasan, Obiozor, and some other distance runners and sprinters) and we're looking at one of our stronger teams on campus in terms of competing for conference titles in cross country and both indoor and outdoor track and field.

Add to that list Hannah Jackson, a transfer from Baylor who sat out last season (due to the transfer). As a senior at Sulfur High School in 2015, she broke the Louisiana 5A state record in the 200 meters. She will have 4 years of eligibility.
