Denver Coach Kubiak Praises Paxton Lynch
Story and video from THE DENVER POST

Coach Gary Kubiak said after an early practice with the team’s rookies that he saw improvement in Lynch’s game from where it was immediately after they picked him in the first round and it appears the needle continues to point up for the rookie. The team’s website reports Lynch displayed “steady work and sound decision-making” in Monday’s practice, which was supported by Kubiak’s appraisal of Lynch’s work.

“No. 12 is really, really stepping up,” Kubiak said. “He’s making some progress here.”

The report from Monday’s practice described both Sanchez and Siemian as having ups and downs, although Siemian “closed strongly” by leading the No. 2 offense to a touchdown against the No. 1 defense in a red zone drill. Sanchez was intercepted by cornerback Lorenzo Doss at the goal-line in his own red zone period.

The Broncos say there’s no timeline to announce a starter and continued progress from Lynch could keep things open well into the summer.

Of course he belongs. That should be no surprise at all for tiger fans.

He's going to have his ups and downs, just all rookies.

First thing I noticed when we took the field at the Rose Bowl...was how much he looked like he belonged.

The nice thing for us fans is that Lynch is in a city that is going to give this team great coverage. We will be able to view a lot of stories and videos on Lynch. On top of that...they are the Super Bowl Champions and that gets the Broncos even more attention.

... Perhaps Lynch's best throw was at the end of practice, when he lofted a fade route to Jordan Taylor that the wide receiver got under, outleaping B.J. Lowery for the 17-yard touchdown. But another example of Lynch's progress is his timing with his receivers, on one late-practice pass to Durron Neal, he timed his throw to where the pass was released as Neal began his break outside; the ball arrived in perfect time and in a spot where it could not be defended. Lynch is also improving at trusting his ability to throw the ball into tight windows, as he did on one pass to Garrett Graham during a team period.

Paxton owes a small fortune to whoever helped fix his delivery to get him more over the top (I assume it was Fuente). His Freshman year, so many of his passes came out at a 3/4. I was actually amazed he could get as much zip on the ball throwing from that angle.
