Keep in mind that whatever conference we ever move up to is going to be a shadow of what it used to be. Most likely a newer version of CUSA under a different name.

Like it or not any dreams of advancing to a P5 conference goes though the AAC. That's why G5 teams are clamoring for an invite. At this point UAB's best option is to have the P5 schools sign extended Grant of Rights agreements to give UAB time to build its resume.

That's totally true. I think we're to the point where the surviving southern and eastern schools G5 should start to talk about some sort of geographical realignment to reduce travel expenses and increase regional interest as much as possible. People simply need to get over the hang-ups of AAC school, vs. CUSA school, vs. Sun Belt school, because after the Big XII is finished there won't be any great differences between most of the members any of the three leagues.
