You almost wonder if the Big 12 is going to expand if it doesn't happen by this Thursday. After Thursday, the Olympics start and don't end until August 21. You wouldn't think it would take place during the Olympics. Maybe I guess that following week- but that starts to take the attention away before the season starts.

I think it happens in the next 2 weeks. Regardless, it is happening, IMO.

I could see it making it happen quicker than one would think. They would want to announce not during the Olympics(and preseason NFL games).

I still wouldn't be shocked in the least if no expansion happens. That they end up releasing some statement saying they couldn't come to a consensus on teams and the whole wanting to extend the GOR thing ends up holding this up. I think this is a stunt by Texas and OU to try to make it look like they tried to save the league so when they leave they can pretend they did all they could.

Yep to b0ndsj0ns's opine. I'd like to see the BigTX expand -- partly for my school's chances to 'step up' and partly because a no-division conference is a relic of the 1980's.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if b0ndsj0ns's scenario appeared.
