**bits and pieces excerpts from the article**
Netflix’s Last Chance U is back for Season 3 on July 20, when the hit show chronicling the lives of JUCO football players will begin a new era. Instead of East Mississippi Community College, where the first two seasons were set, this year’s school is Independence Community College in Kansas.

When the school hired Jason Brown as the head football coach, things changed. He told the cameras that when he got to Indy in 2015, there were no coaches’ offices and no weight room — both had to be built from scratch. There is no brand-new stadium, pristine practice fields, or multiple uniform combinations like at EMCC.

Hell, in episode one, we see a cow interrupt practice.

You do realize half of these guys will end up in our jerseys in 2019! :) Just joking.

I think I read somewhere that our sometime 2017 starting QB Miklo Smalls is there this season. I guess he flunked out of Rice but they never officially said that in those exact terms.

Worked out pretty well for season one's CJ Reavis. From 4 star to VA Tech, being dismissed under mysterious circumstances, to EMCC, to Marshall and now with the Jacksonville Jaguars. And from all accounts it looks like Reavis has a real good shot at making the 53 man roster.

As the 1 thing preached on Last Chance U, Reavis proves if you apply yourself, have a good work ethic and are determined enough then you can make it out of JuCo to the highest level.

But the odds are really stacked against those in JuCo. About 80% never make it out.

Kingston Davis RB UAB
""The 245-pound Davis never really became a featured back with Boyd and Scott ahead of him in the backfield. And after he’s late for a practice when his phone breaks down, Brown puts all the Division I transfers on blast.

“A lot of these Division I guys, I’m sorry to say, are broken,” Brown said in one of his more *ahem* printable moments.

But the former No. 1 fullback in the 247Sports Composite, who arrived from Michigan, has his new coach at UAB thrilled after enrolling early for the spring.

“We’re really excited about him,” UAB coach Bill Clark told 247Sports. “He’s got really quick feet. He’s exciting to watch and he’s really trying.”

He showed out for the spring game. 71 yards on 10 rushing attempts and 46 yards on two catches. Hoping he can take the load off Spencer Brown this year.

Kingston Davis kind of reminds me of Marshall’s Devon Johnson.

UAB recruited him really hard in high school. it’s not like there was a new found interest. Possible he could start at some point. Of course you could say that for 3-4 of our RBs.

RE: OT: Netflix's Last Chance U
With Season 4 set to air on Friday figured this needed a bump. Definitely an interesting read here if you followed Season 3 at ICC.

https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/07/last-ch...n-4-review

The season begins with soaring hopes. The team’s radio announcer can’t help but proclaim the 2019 Indy Pirates a team of destiny. The constantly cursing ex-gangster coach, Jason Brown, has again recruited a squad talented enough to compete for a national title — once unthinkable for a program that was for decades an also-ran in its own conference......the Pirates had an abysmal 2-8 season. Brown would be forced to resign a few months after its conclusion for telling a German player via text message that he was his “new Hitler.”

Whiteley and his team do not plan on returning to Independence and are already evaluating potential teams to feature if the series is picked up for a fifth season.

The "drama" that I'm ready to see is this part:
"Malik Henry unexpectedly returns to the team, as well. The gifted passer was unable to land a scholarship to his liking after last season and is added to the roster late. Brown tells his leadership group that he has no intention of letting Henry, who has a penchant for questioning coaches and teammates on the sideline, escape the practice squad; his presence on campus is simply a favor to help a troubled kid rehab his reputation. Henry tells the camera that he agreed to no such deal with Brown and is hoping to play.

Then Brown boasts to his team that he’s cut Henry so as to excise the cancer and protect the group. Meanwhile Henry tells the cameras that Brown let him down easy, saying the Pirates offensive line wasn’t good enough to protect him and that it would be best if he didn’t play."

Very interesting season. I feel like there weren’t as many likeable guys as there have been in past seasons. Though the kid that is transferring to Arkansas State is one of my favorite in the history of the show.

And Malik Henry, good Lord. Thought I was gonna like him, assuming he had been humbled, but he didn’t change one bit

I think the show missed a huge opportunity to focus on the O-Line. There were clearly major issues there.

Huge focus on concussions, which I found to be well done and illuminating.
