QB RB WR Next year!
After this upcoming year I feel we are very thin at QB and WR!! Hope I am wrong and I'm sure someone will step up and be good replacements to current players. I think running back is the one position we will be okay at and I firmly think the o line will improve with all of the talent comming in.

No different than the 2008 and 2014 season. It's opportunity to have another qb era to emerge no matter who it is. No secret the strength will be the run game so I could see the offense transition back to 2008. Plug in the best running qb and run the hell out of the qb read. If the reads are done properly it doesn't matter how many they stack in the box. The occasional PA deep pass to keep the defense honest. Wrs will step up...Always have.

We need a QB who can consistently get the ball to the WRs. Talent like Golladay's needs to be showcased.

We have to hope Tears is all he is suppose to be. Then maybe a blessing in disguise is having Beebe back. He may get to by the dynamic slot receiver he always could have been. If those two step up, you can plug and play the third guy. Plus who knows....maybe a TE will become a weapon?

Even if NIU football is horrible next year, going into the 2017-18 season NIU basketball will be the clear favorite to win the conference, so at least it offers fans something to look forward to.

Sorry, I was talking about this year. This year, if we stick to majority of runs (including the QB), the talent we have at WR will be wasted. Unfortunately, we have not been known for great passing QBs.

According to reports from spring practice, Christian Blake looked really good. Hope he shows the ability during games because he'll be needed next year.

Absolutely no doubt about it, NIU must be pass-happy this year to remain competitive. And by pass happy, that means utilizing the middle of the field also, and not just bubble screens. NIU has too much talent at WR to not use it.

RE: QB RB WR Next year!
I'm not going to worry about next season when this year's season hasn't even started yet. Some of the younger receivers and runningbacks could show some flashes this year and then it won't even be an issue. Ryan Graham could really take the next step this year and be ready to be a starter by this time next year. For now I will worry about how this year's QB, WR, and RBs do.

Santa should be QB in 2017.
Kenny G needs a 1500 yard season this year.
What is the single season receiving record?

Why should Santa start next year when he hasn't played a down to show us anything? Is it the zero offers he had from other schools or the fact that his brother was a walk-on average player?

2017? Conceding 2016 to WMU already? 2016 can be another big year, do not look to 2017there, is money to be in 2016.
