RE: Tweet by Cincy Prez
You'd have to think the Bearcats are in. They make more sense than just about any other potential candidate.

In just about every realistic scenario, Cincinnati is included – and for good reason. They deserve to be in that league. Had the Big 12 simply made the common sense decision to add Cincinnati and Louisville when it added West Virginia, they probably wouldn't be in this position in the first place.

This is simply righting a stupid wrong, IMO.

BYU seems like another complete no-brainer. I know that the LDS church is said to be a pain in the arse, but that is very clearly a Power 5 program and it would help the Big 12.

After the Stormin' Mormons, things get considerably murkier, IMO. I'm not as high on Houston as many others seem to be. I think that could work but I'm not sure that UH would be the best choice? Perhaps Texas politicos will manage to wrangle the other Cougars in? However, if you look at it objectively, I'm not sure they would be the best decision.

Also, I don't think Memphis makes any sense at all. I mean they're not horrible by any means but there are definitely better options out there.

However, time will tell. This is a very big decision and it's very complex.

UC and BYU are the two no-brainers. This is why I think you will only see the Big 12 invite those two for now.

That would not be the worst decision on their part. However, that does not seem to be what we are hearing from the people on the inside.

Personally, I think I'd be tempted to take those two and take the Florida twins and be done with it. I think that quartet would represent a very successful expansion and would greatly improve their television and recruiting footprint in heavily populated talent-rich areas.

They may not be able to do that for political reasons. Maybe they'll be forced to include Houston? If that happens, I think I'd be tempted to take Boise State as the 14th team. I don't think either Florida directional is nearly as valuable by itself as they are as a package. Adding Boise would definitely spread out the league but BYU already does that. Also, it would also improve it's football rep as the Broncos have been very strong for some time now.

It will be interesting to see what they do.

Definitely UCF, USF I'm still not sold on. The Bulls need an OCS in the worse way.

Yeah, because the NCAA would never want to host the national championship game at our home stadium. 07-coffee3

I just read the Memphis board.

Memphis has had an invitation for awhile now. In fact, they are the first school in the Big 12, ahead of Cincy, BYU and everyone else.

How much longer do we have to wait? I want to get back to my normal life. Expansion keeps sucking me in. I just wanna check in every couple months and say, oh CCU is in the SBC, oh UCSD finally moved to D-I. Oh ITT Tech is in the AAC now.

This.

South Florida has -- compared to media expectations -- mostly underperformed since leaving C-USA, but it's still a growing school in a growing market and the ideal partner with UCF.

Curious to see if any of these teams joins as football-only. Personally, I think that's a bad idea for everybody, but there seems to be a lot of talk in that regard. Maybe it's all it is, or maybe it's just meant for BYU.

I bet this is wrapped up by the middle of the month or sooner.

Well there are only 2 people saying that....

Pickwicktiger who I have no idea who he is....

Tigerscane, who is the Eddie Mush of the Tigers, and makes about 2000 predictions a month and when he gets completely lucky and actually gets a prediction right, spends the next several years saying "remember when I said Paxton Lynch was going to be good" (of course he said the exact same thing about every single player on the team so he had to get atleast one right).

Congrats, Cincy fans!

That is such a generic tweet, you'd have to do some serious digging to find any specific meaning.

A football only membership for BYU & Boise would solve a lot of potential problems that full membership would cause. After that they could bring in Cincinnati & Houston (if forced) as full members.
