Texas is the only instate school P5 school that TXST hasn't been able to schedule.

But you at least play them regularly in other sports. Arkansas has played us twice in history in all sports. A Men'as basketball game in 1987 that they won in Triple Overtime in Fayetteville, and a Women's Basketball game in 2005 that we won pretty convincingly in Jonesboro. Both were part of postseason tournaments.

Otherwise, we've never played them in anything.

Its not just us. They won't play ANY Arkansas university in ANY sport.

They are pretty bad about scheduling instate teams, but they are pretty good about scheduling tough G5 teams, putting the game in Little Rock, getting beat, and then blaming the entire thing on Little Rock, as if Little Rock itself caused the loss.

I second this. 36 years and counting since their NC. They have great facilities, a great recruiting area and pull in Top5-Top10 classes every year. At some point, they should have at least played for a title. They are the poster boy for underachieving. Sure, they have a lot of Top 10 finishes. But they'll always crap in the bed when they shouldn't.

Wish the Hogs would play State. UA can use the company line all they want. Most educated fans know they are playing high & mighty though.

unc-ch l will only play App in what they have a huge advantage in. I'd be fine not playing them in anything if they continue to dodge us in football.

Pigs have a ton of power in this state, so they have the ability to get away with things like this. They also have the ability to shut up anyone who challenges them.

They once got a reporter fired from her job because she went to cover a practice on a hot day and grabbed a Florida Gators hat. School threatened to pull the media credentials of the station if she wasn't barred and didn't apologize.

Several years back UCA moved up from D2 to D1 and their President started making noise about ridding Conway of all the "red". Magically a day or two later it somehow managed to get out that the UCA President had been committing fraud in handling school finances, and he was arrested. President was an idiot yes, but its amazing at the timing of this coming out since he had been doing it for years without getting caught.

A few years later, when Little Rock's women had a strong year and made the NIT, the Razorbacks made it at the same time. Just a few years after we embarrassed them in the same tournament, the Razorbacks flat out told the WNIT they wouldn't play in the tournament if Little Rock was placed in the same section of the bracket as them. As a result, a tournament that paired geographically in regions had Arkansas playing with teams from Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, and Louisiana with one team from Michigan, while Little Rock magically got sent to Pacific to play in a region including 8 teams from California.

AState has gotten enough power in the state now that we can challenge them a bit, and call them out on stupid stuff like this, but competing with the brand is almost impossible. We could play them and beat them by 3 touchdowns, and we probably would still lose every single recruit we went head to head against with them.

Their fans have a standard set of replies when you challenge them about this policy....they are basically trained to recite them from birth.

This policy doesn't get much attention except in our state. So its a real hoot to see Bert get it stirred up on the national stage.

Its a backward policy that belongs somewhere before 1950. Its great to see them accidentally have to explain and justify it for the college football world.
