Dodd calling these schools embarrassing is nothing more than a fatcat lackey poking the working man standing in line for a job interview with his boss.
Also, DavidSt is usually batcrap crazy, but I personally hope there is something to the notion of antitrust suits. Not my area of expertise though.
For once, he's right. Illinois lawmakers are lobbying hard for a third P5 school in Illinois and have been making threats that legal action could be sought if it isn't "remedied" in their eyes. The threats are empty though, just corrupt lawmakers throwing a tantrum. Sadly for me, NIU would most likely be that school to get the green light

I was about ready to say the same thing about David St. Props to him for that.
Cheers!

Since 1980, ECU's record is 212-211. This century it is 93-95. Never in a power conference during that time. That doesn't sound harsh, it sounds realistic. That guy might be a jerk, but he wasn't wrong on this.
College Football in the State of North Carolina is mediocre in general. Only difference is ECU is the only Football first school and yes if somebody sprinkled some magical pixy dust on us in the form of $30 million per year in P5 tv revenue then most ECU fans believe we would have a VT type rise in profile from when they entered the Big East and had a level playing field.
Bottom line is there is a bunch of mediocre P5 schools who are just damn lucky enough to have been grandfathered into what became a P5 Conference with $25 million + in extra revenue to compete that a lot of competitive G5 schools don't have. If you post ECU records you also have to keep in mind that about 80% of our games vs what are now P5 schools have been on the road. Ask UNC and NCST how they feel about visiting Greenville ? Last time WVU came they were ranked #8 in the country and lost to us. We can be very tough to play at home but unfortunately it is hard to get the P5 schools to venture out of the safe confines of their home stadiums for OOC.
If this article is not proof positive that dodd is a goof that is dismissed like a school girl wanting an autograph from a pop star i dont know what is.
They told him nothing and pretty much to bugger off, so he writes s story about pandering and justin Timberlake.
Lol. Dodd

Dodd is making things up as he goes just for Click Bait. I called out that this link to this article was nothing but trash when Bowlsby was saying that they are expanding while the next day, Dodd posted that Tabloid trash piece he wrote that they are not expanding.

it was an opinion article written by a clown. he wrote an opinion article at the beginning of July, effectively stating his hatred for the US and the 4th of July is a racist holiday that shouldn't be celebrated. I'm all for free speech, I just wish he did it on his own blog and not our newspaper. pretty embarrassing.
RE: Big 12 expansion: Public pandering by AAC schools is borderline embarrassing.
ECU's Associate AD Shelley Vinegar:
Quote:"It's a fine line," said ECU associate AD Shelley Binegar, one of those in charge of the Twitter barrage. "You want to be very respectful of the conference you're currently in ... But when an opportunity presents itself your first loyalty is to your university, to your students, to your state to your town."
Quote:SMU has the academics. Houston has the market. UCF has the upside. Memphis has FedEx CEO Fred Smith's riches. (Timberlake's cache is being a native of both Memphis and the boy-band movement.) BYU has something largely lacking in this discussion -- a tradition of big-time football.
