The AD's of the selected schools will wake up to find an envelope underneath their pillow. Inside, they find a golden ticket, which allows them just one trip to the factory where dreams are made of. As each AD makes their way to the Big XII headquarters, there are skywriting planes creating the logos of the newly accepted schools in the sky. Once inside the headquarters, each AD signs away their soul to the all-powerful P5, and they leave riding on self-propelled wheelbarrows full of cold hard cash.
The next morning a note is slipped under the door of each major newspaper's copy editor with a picture containing a cougar, bearcat, tiger, and a Mormon, with the words "Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever." inscribed below.
What's been the popular style? Someone from a school leaks something to the media late in the week as the school sets a presser for early the following week (a Tuesday), with the conference confirming Monday ahead of what then becomes two formal announcements (school and conference).
ACC action seemed to be more driven by ESPN, probably because they essentially own the conference. I don't recall the Syracuse, Pitt, and Louisville pickups seeing the schools leaking anything first. ESPN seemed to control that flow, iirc.

Seriously, they could have a Selection Sunday show and it would get huge ratings (be sure to interview the jilted AD's as well for some additional drama). And later on another one for the AAC.

Great idea. Put all the team hats on the table, then put the winners' hats on, one at a time, lol.
If you want drama, it should be held like the lottery or NBA draft. Put ping pong balls with the names of all 20 schools who sent letters showing interest in one of those air hoppers and one by one the first 4 that slid up are the winners. ESPN would pay big money for that!
