Coming back for first time in 8 years....need advice
I'm super excited because I just found out that I'm going to be able to make it to a game for the first time since 2008. I'll be in the 'burg for the William & Mary game in October! I'm a huge fan and never miss a single televised game (including every game on Madizone) so finally being able to make the trip back from Chicago is huge for me!

That being said, I am agonizing over which seats to pick. Since I don't get back often, I want to make sure the seats are as good as possible. But having never been to the new stadium, I don't have the scoop on which seats to pick. For instance, I don't know which seats would be blocked by people going up and down the aisle. I don't know which seats have the best view of the band or scoreboard.

So....if anyone has a free minute and wants to help a Duke out with their perspective on what the best remaining seats are, I would greatly appreciate it. I will need 5 total seats and definitely want to sit in the new part of the stadium.

Thanks!

To see the scoreboard you're going to want to try to go from the east 40 yard line (toward Plecker) or so toward the band endzone and around behind the band. Seats even up in the 400 level give great field views so it is hard to go wrong!

Wow your first trip to the burg since we expanded bridgeforth. I envy that excitement. It's nice.

If people walking up and down aisles is an issue for you, then I would sit more central in a row to reduce the likelihood of that. As with pretty much any stadium, the pricier tickets closer to midfield will have better angles. The 100 level may have the players and coaches blocking the home half of the field for you due to how close to the field it is. I wouldn't know though, as I don't sit that low.

Section 109 is a group of fans that stand the entire game, so avoid that section if that's not your thing. The club is probably the nicest section, and if you're willing, I say treat yourself to those seats for your rare trip to harrisonburg.

Check out what is on stubhub and of course fans on here will always be selling tickets, but likely not this far out.

IMHO, The best views are from Sections 209-212 as far as field of view. Even in the upper level 409-411/412 of the same zone is great view, know a few folks that like the 213-214 area.
you can see the band to your left...look straight across you can see the cheerleaders...directly in front you have the dance team and of course the football team infront and to your right and you have the best views of Big Screen and the Scoreboard.
Down Side is the earlier the game the more sun you get but usually by 1/2 time during the later season games its not as bad. but definitely not as much sun as the old seating side. But some days the sun is your friend (warmth)

Somebody said to me my very first year there really isnt a bad seat.....for most part its true except 1 area we got comp tickets from my daughter for our very first JMU game for section 101 her freshman year that was the worst. after that first game WE GOT our Season Tix.

I wander alot throughout the games (taking photos of the my daughter with the cheerleaders) so I have seen the games from a lot of perspectives.

Hope it helps...

Come sit in 109 with us, you'll have great views and interaction with the players and also lots of bourbon gets passed around.

This is a great section, I was privileged to sit there once when I got some tickets from some folks who could not make it (I think it was last year's playoff game).

The best seats in the house is in the 300 level. Find some seats in the center 300 level for your 1st experience. That includes the field, the team(s), and the band. Not to mention the skyline.

This coming from someone in the 200 level.

I've had season tix in 309, 209, and 109. As mentioned by someone else, I wouldn't get anything too far east because you can't see the scoreboard.

300 level has great views.
100 level gets you really close to the action.
Personally, I like the 200 level because it is a good mix of view and closeness.

If ur worried about the potential for rain, rows VV and UU are protected by the upper deck overhang. I like my tickets in 203, but coming for such a rare appearance I'd get club tix.
