Take a chill pill. While we got a number of big recruits early. If something happens and Carter and maybe even Bateman go elsewhere we will not match last year's class.
We got excited because we got guys earlier instead of late in process. But the numbers are not that much better according to 24-7. Scout has us better but only slightly..
We need at least Carter and maybe both. We really need some big bang type of recruits to close out the class..
According to Rivals, we have 2 4*s and 11 3*s, against last year's 0 4*s and 9 3*s. In 2015, we had 1 4* and 2 3*s. In 2014, we had 0 4*s and 4 3*s. Norvell is recruiting exponentially better than what Fuente, Porter, or West EVER did. Unless we have a fallout of commits, this will be our best draft class in years (potentially ever)
And this class still has a few commits that have not been evaluated or not evaluate in a long time that could easily turn into 3* recruits. Norvell was billed as a great recruiter and has lived up to that billing thus far.

Have to remain consistent as to which service you are going to use for comparison and not just choose the one which gives you the results you want. The service of choice so far has been 24/7. Based on their numbers we are with in 3 cumulative points of last years class with 1 fewer commit. If we do not get another commit we will finish around 65th based on he 2016 scores. Compared to 63rd last year with one more recruit. With an additional commit is is likely we will surpass past year 166.81 cumulative score.

Okay, fine. With 247Sports, we have 1 4* and 19 3*. There's no reason why we cannot take more commits in 2017 than we did in 2016, too. Heck, in 2013, we took 44 commits.
Last year, we had no 4* and 18 3* (2017 is already better with 5 months remaining). In 2015, we had 1 4* and 15 3* (We had 33 commits that year). In 2014, we had o 4* and 10 3*.
Our class is already better than any class we've had in recent memory (with 5 months remaining). It's safe to say this will be a record class for us. We'll end up in the top 50, unless we see a mass exodus of commits.

RE: 4* OT Toryque Bateman names Memphis in Top 5
Here is what's going to be interesting will they over sign like the other bigger programs do? That means there swinging for the fences for additional high 3* 4 and 5's and IF they commit over the number of scholarships they will not honor a potential 2* commit.
TN does it all the time. Case and point with Tim Hart.

I can remain "consistent" and use a recruiting service other than the 1 that you are using to whine and moan. This staff is clearly doing great recruiting...

Any chance we can put nascar guy and Penny Lane together and let them have a whine and ***** off. We could do it in the old alumni tent spot on Tiger Lane; a grand time would be had by all.

The best thing is to not read or reply to them. It only builds up their ego.

I think most people on this board would gladly take a top 60 class. 4 straight top 60 classes and we would probably be the best non P5 team in the country

A few more years of this type of class with good coaching will have us consistently competing for conference championships.

Then quit having orgasms because we are TEMPORARILY in the top 40 due to getting commits early. You are the group who is making suite a big deal about the ratings being so high. Then you say it does not mean anything.

Good grief. There is some excitement around the program right now with respect to recruiting and on-field results. Why can't you just let people enjoy it?

Then quit bitching and whining like little babies when reminded that we are going to be in the 55-60 range. Last few weeks we have had many on here claiming that we will end up in the 40s and then get their panties in a wad when shown evidence that we will have a similar class to last year. Especially when we start dropping and they cannot accept reality.
Sounded like we had a entire boards full of TCs.
Do not attack me because you get butt hurt your bubble gets burst and you have to come back down, and reality bites you in the ass.
Fuente's recruiting classes proved rankings didn't matter. only went 10-3 and 9-4 with his type of players. Stick with Nascar Blossom....there are no points awarded for recruiting top 10 classes.

NascarDolt is right we do this every year, we race out to a good ranking, with lots of commitments, .... wait,... this is not like other years at all....
it is much better then before, but we will fall out of the top 40 due to average rank of our signees on signing day, unless we replace a bunch of 2 sars
