Bwahhhhhahaha... Spoken like a true myopic AD of a regional university. Must be a challenge reaching alumni outside the bubble with T-Rex arms and an overly large cowboy hat obstructing your vision beyond the end of your nose. National standard yo!

Don't forget - that was exactly the same philosophy as Paul Tagliabue and the NFL for decades - until only about 2 years ago. (It's not just small-time AD's hoping that it was true.)

Yeah, now that it's not on Madizone I feel totally inclined to fly in from Spain every weekend to see the game in person.

Those were Greg Madia's words, not Bourne's. Sorry, grind your axe anyways. Don't let me stop you.

You're right though. People won't be more inclined to come due to a lack of tv.
This is a country that is letting their local grocery store die because they can just Amazon the order to their door.

Yep...

I try to get to every game I can, and being in Richmond its easy to get to a lot of them, but it does not mean I always have the time to travel to the games. I want to be able to see every game if I can't be there in person!

RE: New CAA TV deal in the works
The fact that the CAA doesn't have a TV deal in place just shows you how small potatoes the CAA is. It is not the CAA that existed when I went to school, or even five years ago. We are the hold-outs and now we are reaping what we sow for our inaction and lack of vision.

Talk about how competitive the CAA is all you want, it is a one-bid NCAA tourney league. Most football programs are poorly supported by their schools and alumni leading it to be just an average, ho-hum mid-major league. One that we are STUCK in with a $43M athletic budget due to poor leadership and mis-management.

RE: New CAA TV deal in the works
The CAA FB Media Day event is 2 weeks from today on July 25. At this point, I'm guessing they will wait to release TV assignments for the CAA FB conference games on that date...and hopefully, along with it some guidance regarding TV contracts. I'm further hopeful that today's announcement regarding CBS Sports Network picking up the Semi's and CG of the CAAT is a precursor to a bigger announcement regarding TV and the CAA.

With the move to a Saturday to Tuesday format the TV exposure improves, but my ability to travel to Charleston and root deminishes.

Mixed emotions.

From what I have heard there are "NO" JMU TV games on the schedule at this time. 3:30 kickoff are there just in case we somehow get a CAA TV deal. ECU is a ESPN3 game.

Will be interesting indeed to see what, if anything, is announced at the upcoming Media Day on the 25th. Speaking of ESPN-3, I remain hopeful that at minimum the CAA can work a deal moving forward to start utilizing that platform for FB along with all other sports.

I don't know if the Comcast/NBC Regional Networks such as CSN-MA are dumping their association with televising a CAA GOTW. I believe last season was their last doing CAA MBB so it won't surprise me if that is the case.

I mean... we all essentially realized that by February really. That was when the last CAA TV Deal was announced, by march 1st, we were already late.

If the is no CAA television deal (ESPN3 or otherwise), that is a massive issue.

It would hasten our desire for FBS imo. You can't get ZERO exposure and hope to grow the program.

Hell... one SLC school, Stephen F Austin, even secured an ESPN3 package for damn near their entire athletic program BY THEMSELVES!

I'm sure there are other examples in FCS I'm missing.

It's unacceptable that the CAA can't lock up what the MVFC and SoCon have, let alone the friggin SLC. Are you kidding me?!

Were they that pissed about our NBC Sports deal that they've blacklisted us forever?

JMU is monitoring the situation and waiting for the TV contract negotiations with other conferences to stabilize before accepting phone calls from prospective networks. I don't know what more they can be expected to do but go ahead and keep grinding your axe.

Yes, ESPN blacklisted us.

Well, other than that one time they brought Gameday to town.

They can't get the hell over it now that we no longer have a contract with them and have a new, significantly better commissioner? Tom Yeager is gone.

New CAA TV deal in the works
Today marks the deepest into a calendar year that caa football has had to go without ANY tv schedule released, at least since the NBC sports network deal signed in 2012.

I'm more of an "Fcs defender" than some on here, but even this has me saying..... Wow. Just wow.

The biggest thing to measure the new commissioner on and he's got nothing to show for it.

To add insult to injury... looks like Stretch updated whatever media player they're using and no longer support Apple Airplay. 04-chairshot03-banghead01-wingedeagle

Just found the following in the help section, "If you're wishing to view the broadcasts on your TV, we suggest using AppleTV to wirelessly stream content from a Mac or Apple mobile device"

TOO BAD YOU TOOK IT AWAY!!!!!!!!!
