RE: New CAA TV deal in the works
Only 1 TV game at BFS this year. W&M game, that don't show ya the lack of interest in FCS for TV. nothing will. I think each team gets a TV game. we will be on 6 times and I'm not even sure JMU gets any moneys for away TV games. CAA does.

I don't know of any conference whose members get money for individual games being on TV. The conference has a TV contract and the money is split among members equally in almost all cases.

An idea of the current deal the MVFC has with ESPN3 that I'd love to see the CAA get. Every conference game and most out of conference home games are on WatchESPN in addition to still having a regional TV deal with regional networks.

Edit: After reading around a bit more, it does seem like there are WatchESPN blackout restrictions if you're in a zip code that can receive regional networks that air a specific team's games.

Now, that would be cool.

Interesting news from the NBCSN hockey schedule: they have a game scheduled for March 6 at 7:30, when the CAA basketball championship would usually be (7pm start on Monday night). Either an early game or the game will be on another network.

It's one thing for them to block out all FCS football, or college football in general since they don't air FBS anymore aside from one Notre Dame game. It's a whole different thing to not air our CAA basketball tournament, which was supposedly the motivating factor from NBCSN's end way back when this tv deal was originally signed. Yeager just got them to agree to throw in FCS games in addition to basketball.

Nobody is watching either. Let's be honest.

The CAA hoops tourney championship would be much better off on one of the ESPN networks. ESPN promotes/markets Championship Week and often there are good lead-in games into or coming in behind as well. Not too many college hoops fans are watching NBC-SN over ESPN that time of year. The junkies and casual observers are far more likely to be dialed into ESPN's coverage - even if on ESPN-2 or ESPN-U.
