Makes sense to me. This is how it always is. And we need to do what we usually do: win the West, and get to the MACC (and hopefully win it).

It must really pain the MAC to put out this poll when is shows a non-Ohio (i.e., non-Toledo) team taking the crown.

You know what's going to happen, right?

BGSU will quietly put together another great season, everyone including MAC fans will overlook them, and then BAM, another BGSU football title.

Wow, that's a big difference between WMU and NIU/Toledo. I just don't see it.

I think its reasonable mainly because of the schedule. WMU has the schedule set up absolutely perfect for them this year. It is a perfect storm for WMU with them having a slight edge in talent over NIU and Toledo and then getting the great schedule. I really wish the MAC would go to some staggered schedule where NIU may play at WMU two years in a row once in awhile just to switch up the rotation and not have it come out the same way every 2 years.

I sure hope that US Cellular game doesn't cost NIU in the end. Seems like a huge price to pay giving up a W against a MAC West rival just so our AD can go to Missouri.

Most polls that I have seen pick BGSU to go back to Detroit.

With all the pieces in place and all the preseason hype surrounding WMU, it would be a shame if they blow it this year. Another loss to the Huskies in Kalamazoo could be just heartbreaking.

Bowling Green lost a ton of talent and their head coach. I don't expect them to be very good this year.

Fleck can't go 0-4 against his alma mater - can he?

I mean everyone else in the West except CMU is an 0 for this decade against NIU, so statistically Fleck has a low chance.

That being said, if there were ever a year when he should, this is it. Or we will all come to realize WMU's players maybe good individually, but as a team it doesn't work together.

I've got a feeling Lovie and Co are going to beat PJ and the rowers pretty bad.

Can someone refresh my memory and let me know when the last time we were picked to win the west and the MACC? I'm assuming it's a Jordan Lynch year.

Also how many times over the last decade were we picked to win the west?

Well they get to play an easy slate against MAC East and cruise until they finally get to play a tougher MAC West opponent. Its so easy in the East that they lost a ton of players and their coaching staff and they're still predicted to win it.

Sure he can, PJ is actually an NIU mole.

I was curious about this myself, so I checked. From 1998 to 2016 in the preseason media poll NIU was picked to win the West and the MACC in 2013; picked to win the West and lose to Temple in the MACC in 2010; and picked to win the West and the MACC in 2006.

What is so bad about the Cell game? What is the difference between playing in front of 15,000 fans in Chicago instead of DeKalb. You are acting like NIU scheduled this game in Detroit or something.
