RE: Ranking ACC Home Court Advantage
I would have Clemson higher, especially over Virginia. In the late 90s, it was crazy in there when Rick Barnes was the coach and had ranked teams. I've only been back a few times since but it was always loud.

The new Littlejohn is more than a renovation, as stated in the article, it was a complete redo. It appears even the court was rotated 90 degrees. The seats are at a sharper angle so the crowd will feel right on top of the court.

Here is a nice article about the new Little John:

http://www.thestate.com/sports/college/a...36927.html

Here is a few snippets:

Taking center stage inside the arena will be Littlejohn’s new scoreboard. Featuring a total of six screens, the scoreboard’s main displays will be 16 feet tall by 28 feet wide, making it the longest curved display Daktronics has put in any college arena.

Littlejohn will also have ribbon board displays — 17, in total, of varying lengths — that will cover nearly the entire circumference of the arena. There’ll be more than 100 television screens inside Littlejohn, while the new sound system will be distributed throughout the concourse.

For fans willing to dole out extra money, premium seating will be located in the club section, a lower-level section of 400-plus seats in front of an open-air platform that will connect an exclusive club area — complete with a bar, food service and TVs — to the arena bowl.

Clemson’s decision to shift the orientation of the court 90 degrees was made primarily, Simon said, with the vision of using existing structure to design that club area at midcourt.

“This open-air kind of platform as part of the club is very unique,” Simon said. “I’m not aware of any other premium area that’s got this.”

Littlejohn’s new layout, which will have a 9,000-seat capacity, will also include 64 midcourt loge seats — countertop seats on the concourse with one TV per two seats — as well as courtside seats.

History doesn't mean it is that high currently. UVA has a much better home court advantage recently. Littlejohn is closer to 8,500 than 9k.

It seems they're ranking them based on right now. So if your program is listed in critical condition in the ER (*raises hand*) don't bother reading you'll be in last.

As long as BC plays ACC hoops, GT doesn't have to worry about being last

RE: Ranking ACC Home Court Advantage
That's generally true. Your home-court advantage is only as good as your team. However, Pitt has been down in recent years and we're still ranked fourth on that list.

For the record, I have no idea how it should be ranked? I haven't been to most of those venues.

you are conflating wins with home court advantage. UVA is recruiting better shooters. has nothing to do with home crowd atmosphere. Clemson has won a lot of big upsets at home with less talent than other teams over the years.

Clemson also played in Greenville last season.

Agreed, those were big wins. I was present for the Miami game, in fact (free tickets!). However, my point was that those were NOT on Clemson's home court.

Notre Dame for Louisville.

Louisville hasn't won there since either the first Bush administration or in early in Clinton's first administration.

Pitt is too high. Louisville has only lost there once, and it was in double overtime.

Tyler Hansbrough always claimed that Littlejohn was the toughest arena in the ACC to play in.
BTW, Hansbrough was 4-0 at Cameron.

i know but the home court is basically the intensity of the crowd. Clemson has an enthusiastic crowd regardless of what serves as home court.

believe CLemson has knocked off both ranked Duke and UNC teams over the years at littlejohn.

clemson is kind of the typical homecourt hero program, play better at home than on the road.

Thanks for your opinion but it isn't being debated... we are aware football pays most of the bills but the article discussed BB arenas...is there a problem? or are you just being negative about Cuse again?
