Team X wins the Atlantic division because...
Which team do you think will win the Atlantic division in football this year and why?

Clemson will because of Watson.

Clemson because it's returning 90% of it's offensive production and the 10% that's gone (WR Charone Peake and RB Zac Brooks) is being replaced by more talented players who missed last season with injury (WR Mike Williams and RB Adam Choice) so it's more than plausible that the offense that nobody in the ACC could stop last year is even better this year.

Clemson. They'll be better this year than they were last year and last year they were championship calibre.

RE: Team X wins the Atlantic division because...
Petrino's 3rd season at Louisville (the first time) - 10 wins
Petrino's 3rd season at Arkansas - 10 wins
I'm expecting the same or better this time around in his 3rd season. He finally has a QB that knows the playbook, an OLine that can protect him, and some of the best receivers in the league. Plus returning something like 18 of 22 starters from a team that only got better as the season progressed last year, I'm feeling pretty confident.

Q: Is 10 wins enough to win that division, though?

Not sure, maybe. It has been before, but not recently. Will probably have to go undefeated in the Atlantic this year to win. Not sure what what the tiebreaker is if FSU, Clemson, and Louisville all beat each other. Highest ranked team?

Clemson because of Watson and that D. They can lose a lot of talent on that side of the ball and not miss a beat the following season. Reloading has become the norm for Clemson's D.

What, are you thinking UL goes undefeated in ACC play and then loses to Houston and Kentucky? How #GoACC of you...

Your question and premise was, "Team X wins the Atlantic Division"....
OOC losses don't affect the conference standings, do they?

So I ask again - are you suggesting UL will go 8-0 in the ACC and 2-2 OOC? SPIT IT OUT, MAN!

Has nothing to do with your original premise.

Indirectly, it does. I'm stating that Louisville cannot win the Atlantic division with a 10-2 record. While it is theoretically possible to do so, I just don't see them running the table in the ACC and losing TWO non-conference games. Now, they could go 7-1 ACC and 3-1 OOC (lose @ Houston), but that's probably only good for a SHARE of the division.

I promise you the winner of the Atlantic will be undefeated in conference play. U of L is good but not that good I am guessing 9-3 or 10-2. They aren't athletic enough to beat both Clemson and FSU. (I went to U of L btw)
