Now that television markets may be out the window, it's all about upgrading facilities and getting boosters more committed monetarily.

This is why the AAC is different from the other G5's. This level of spending on facilities is largely absent from the other G5's. Yes, a team here or there is doing something, but virtually every team in the AAC is spending big money to improve facilities. That makes a difference---especially when that level of spending is matched with a similar financial commitment for coaching hires.

If the Big 12 chooses to add 4 teams, SMU has a better shot than most think, although still an uphill battle.

At the minimum this and other AAC upgrades to facilities show what you have to do if you want to join the party.

We are talking about the last flight out of Saigon so if SMU has a shot you better break out the old Pony Express boosters and do what ever you can to get on that Big12 life raft. If it involves large sums of money, hookers and some cocaine.....get it done 04-cheers

On a serious note, does anybody see a possibility of the Big 12 adding two more Texas schools ? If SMU can keep their Basketball where it is at and get Football back to where it was a long time ago I could see them being a viable candidate based in your endowment alone. I enjoy playing SMU so good luck to you in the Big12 sweepstakes. They could name this round of expansion Hunger Games because it seems like it is life or death for our Athletic programs

Is there the possibility that this is what SMU was going to do anyway to stay ahead in 2016 and provide value to the AAC?
