Party platforms
Do they really matter in this day and age?

To me they are going the way of denominations in Protestantism....they are there but that is not why people make any decisions

RE: Party platforms
Has anyone on this board ever read one? I haven't. They are nothing but a PR piece meant as red meat for the most faithful.

RE: Party platforms
They are basically the same. Both just out to steal as much money from hard working people as possible. The only difference is where they decide to spend it. They are just the flip sides of a big government coin. The system is rigged against working people.

Unless you are going to use your opponents platform to attack them their only use is to start a fire.

Denominations do matter among protestants. There's a big difference between Methodism and Baptists. There are big differences just among the different Baptist groups. You may find 3 different Baptist churches in a town of 300 people!

But how much of that is based out of tradition as opposed to people choosing out of a bunch of different options. In the grand scheme of things denominations don't matter like they used to

Anyways, my point was Sanders is making a big deal about this being the most progressive platform. My response is so flippin what? Does he actually think Clinton is going to follow it?
