If Bowls is talking to the AZ school then he called them. They are next door neighbors to Cali, just like OR---all those schools have way more contact and investment in the West coast than the plains. They ain't goin' nowhere...

Cincinnati, USF, and UConn did.... from BCS auto bid with the BCS and the BE to G5.
The AAC kept its autobid while the BCS was still in place for 2013. Cincinnati, South Florida, and UConn didn't go down willingly and the members they invited to the AAC moved up in the pecking order.

This is funny as hell. Read my lips......no former Big 12 team will return. We ALL improved our lot in life. Whether that be better football, money, stability, leadership or academics.
Each team got some combination of the above with all getting the underlined. Why would you leave that.

RE: Twitter says Bowlsby is talking with Colo, Ariz, and Ariz St
I think if there was seriously any discussion of teams leaving the PAC 12, that the B1G would start looking at throwing a lifeline to the PAC 12 Cali schools (USC, UCLA, Stanford, Cal) to go to 18
At that point you'd have PAC 12 schools talking to the Big XII, and I could see Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and the Arizona schools bailing
The PAC 12 isn't NEARLY as invulnerable as you people seem to think...they have a weak TV contract, are weakly supported in viewership, and aren't nearly as academically superior as they think. You also look at their last expansion....Utah and Colorado weren't the teams they wanted. They wanted the PAC 16 teams with TEXAS.
They are a disappointing conference on their way down without a top team. The ACC has eclipsed them, and now the Big XII is looking to expand with the possibilities of more $$$.
The PAC 12 could easily find themselves at the bottom of the heap in the P5

I think Colorado might sit down for a second and think things over....
Nebraska, Mizzou, and A&M are all in better places though

No Pac 12 school is ever joining the big 12. Might as well say Iowa is joining the big 12. I do believe the pac 12 should offer 6 big 12 school's a spot and jump to 18.

RE: Twitter says Bowlsby is talking with Colo, Ariz, and Ariz St
Ignoring the GOR for the moment.
Arizona and Arizona State fit pretty nicely on the map with the Pac-12 but they aren't a terrible fit geographically with the Big XII.
Culturally, Arizona State is a better fit with the Big XII than the Pac-12. I've not spend sufficient time in Tucson to opine on how Arizona fits.
Colorado? They were the odd duck of the Big 8/12 I think the Pac-12 fits who they are as an institution and a fan base better than the Pac-12 does.
Now if I am ESPN or Fox and I do business with the two conferences what is in my best interest? Status quo or weakening the Pac-12.
Easy answer. I want to shift Pac-12 content to the Big XII. The Pac-12 has put third tier content on a network that the Pac-12 has 100% equity in. I would rather partner with the other network (ESPN or Fox) and start at Big XII network than have a conference out there owning a network outright.
I'm in the business of aggregating sports content and reselling it no matter what the delivery model ends up being in the next decade or the decade after that and I don't want content owners in competition with me. If Pac-12 Net fails or the underperformance results in a financial hit by losing teams, lesson learned for content owners wanting to compete with ESPN and Fox.

This may all stem from Greg Hansen's editorial in the AZ Daily Star in January.
Would Big 12 be a better fit for Cats?
How much behind the scenes he knows about it? Who knows? But it could be a TAMU type situation with Arizona. They could be unhappy with the Pac 12 Network - which has failed - and want to differentiate themselves from ASU & the California schools.
The Big 12 should be doing everything possible to find out if a) Arizona wants to join and b) if they can get them out of the P12 GOR.

I figured once folks started digging there would be some stuff about issues the P12 is having...

From a Big 12 perspective - if you can get Arizona out of the grant of rights - you try to pull Colorado & Utah with you. When that doesn't work, you take CSU and BYU which should settle your western front from any further expansion attack from the Pac 12. That puts the conference back on TV in CO homes as well as adding AZ & UT homes. It also takes away the Pac 12's 2 best replacement options if Arizona were to leave.
That said, it's all a dream

Not sure what makes you think ASU is a better cultural fit for the BigXII-II

I live two miles from ASU. Phoenix is geared to the West Coast, not towards the Plains.

It is more likely that the Pac 12 raids the Big 12 than vice versa.
