No program has a better record in football the past 6 years. NIU's academics are outstanding with GPA and graduation rate for athletes among the best. Then there's access to the Chicago market. Either conference would benefit from adding NIU.

Hate to burst your bubble, but there is no chance NIU gets invited to the XII. The AAC is a possibility, but your attendance is atrocious in both major revenue sports. As far as how NIU lines up academically with the AAC, I have no clue.

Ididn't say I'm banking on it or anything, just that if the B1G invited Rutgers then anything is possible with realignment

Non rivals is right, I still don't know you beat us last year. From the Fg call to your Wr throwing our Cb to the ground on your winning TD drive it just seems to go your way. We need to find to finish you guys off one of these years. 03-banghead

Hopefully Toledo is trying, the resources and revenue are in place, not sure of the will.

Except that Rutgers for all of its warts is the state flagship school of New jersey whose market bleeds into New york, and if I had to guess it's athletic budget, attendance, and academics far outshine NIU. Not trying to be a hater, as I like NIU, but this is no comparison.

If NIU keeps winning, they'll have a solid chance. Even if they don't have good attendance, they have more wins in the last 5 years than most schools, and are near a major media market.

If we add NIU we better have the basketball tournament in Chicago.

I'm sure that could be arranged, as well as playing a good amount of our games in downtown Chicago at US Cellular field (we have a very prestigious alumni on the board) until our stadium renovations are done. Definitely some huge benefits for the AAC as a whole. A nationally televised game in downtown Chicago? Not a bad draw! Especially with real teams like Temple, ECU, USF, UCF, UCONN, etc. instead of EMU, Kent St, Akron, etc.

Well, an hour and 15 with traffic... but you get the idea

There is only one G5 school to win 10 games each of the last 3 seasons. That would be the same school that beat the living day lights out of NIU in a bowl game during that stretch. 07-coffee3

Also the same Marshall program that averages more than double the fans that NIU averages per game.

You won 10+ games in the weak ass CUSA that no TV partners really want. Good for you buddy...

We won 10 games the same year ECU was in the conference. The same year we beat you for the East division title. 03-nutkick
