Which Teams Should the AAC Add? (Pick up to 3)
And 16 basketball conference games isn't a problem since whomever is left, out of Memphis or UConn, will probably want more OOC games to boost ticket sales.

I like this shirt better...
Okay troll. Add a few more teams to your favorite list so you can always be a winner!
Do you have a degree from Rutgers? I have degrees from my schools.
Rutgers is garbage. The success in the AAC over the last 3 years eclipses Rutgers athletic history.

16 is a problem because the conferences RPI is going to take a hit. UConn MIGHT be able to get two good OOC games but what about Tulane, ECU and the other RPI dregs in the league? That could cost you guys an at large bid and cost you more money.

No market/$$upside
They are also over an hour and a half from anything remotely called a city and the biggest city near them could care less about them.

RE: Which Teams Should the AAC Add? (Pick up to 3)
It seems that everyone is forgetting one important thing.
The AAC takes a lot of pride in leading the G5 in average attendance. NIU only averages around 11,000 fans per game in football. This is the reported attendance, so we can only imagine the true numbers. How many AAC teams average more than this in basketball. Which by the way, NIU only averages around 1,000 fans per game and have they ever been good in basketball?
NIU is also very far outside the AAC footprint. If they were an ECU quality program then the AAC would be willing to go outside the footprint.
Why would the AAC be interested in NIU? Please, say something other than the Chicago market which isn't true.

RE: Which Teams Should the AAC Add? (Pick up to 3)
This question is really not possible to answer until you know how many and what schools would be leaving. The biggest actual advantage for the AAC is basketball. If all the best basketball programs get taken and it is knocked back to where most of the rest of the G5 is then in order to take MAC schools for instance they may need to take a bunch at once in order to get them which may make them unpalatable. If you don't take a number of them and basketball quality has diminished then they might just bide their time instead.
However for the Belt and CUSA they can probably get whatever they want whenever they what. I do not think MWC schools would be interested unless they were the conference that gets raided heavily.

Where did you get 11,000 from? 13,000-14,000 or so is the lowest average attendance we've had in a long time, and unlike some schools, that is actual attendance. I've been to all the recent games so I know the numbers are real. Sure that's still bad, but lets not make up numbers. Plus, you're trying to compare those numbers with schools that do go by tickets sold and have nowhere near that many people in the seats.
NIU got to the NCAA tournament in the late 90s once, and around the late 80s one time, didn't win any games though. We've had a lot of bad teams recently, but the new coach has them on an upward trend.
