How many teams do you think the AAC will lose to the Big 12?
The B12 is adding 2 or 4. Most potential candidates are in the AAC, except BYU, Boise and CSU. How many will the AAC lose?

RE: Poll: How many teams do you think the AAC will lose to the Big 12?
I voted 3. I think the Big 12 will add 4 teams, so I am waffling between 2 and 3 from the AAC. I think BYU is one that doesn't affect us. After that, I think Memphis and Cincy go, leaving one spot. My guess is Houston takes a spot, too. But the politics are unpredictable. If not, then maybe Boise, so the AAC would only lose 2.

We're close, lol. We both think they add 4. We have the same 3 teams, plus our own, lol. But the result is the same. Three teams out of here.

One. BYU and UH to the B12. Winds of change move slow. They won't go from not wanting to expand to suddenly taking 4 new teams.
The AAC will be fine for the time being. Add Wichita and move on down the road.

The media thought they weren't expanding, but the Big 12 has been talking to schools for over 2 years now. They have been contemplating adding 4 since at least February, more or less.
Also, adding Wichita leaves us at 11 FB teams.

I only see the B12 adding two to make it an even 12. They are the Big12, right? Lol. Who knows.
I'm all for adding Wichita bball only. Add Army if you can get them for football. Maybe a MWC team or two if you can't get Army. Figure out a way to make it work and still have a conf title game.
Don't add anyone from CUSA, the MaC, or the SunBelt. If we start down that road it's over for the AAC.

If Big12 wants 2 the AAC loses only 1
Houston
BYU
If Big12 wants 4 the AAC loses 3
Houston
BYU
Cincinnati
UConn

I am leaning that to be the winning scenario.
I think it would be a great time to attack the MWC by going to 14. I think this would get the ESPN money the AAC would hope for. To me this would be a legit power conference.
An example breakdown go to a Nine Game Schedule
Fresno St vs SDSU
BOISE vs ECU (I think ECU fans would love to get this for a rivalary game)
Colorado St vs Air Force
Tulsa vs SMU
USF vs UCF
Memphis vs Tulane
Temple vs Navy

RE: How many teams do you think the AAC will lose to the Big 12?
Wouldn't be too surprised if there were 6 teams in the expansion. If so, I think UConn and SMU get the last two spots. 4 teams, UC, Memphis, Houston and BYU (if they can work out problems). 2 teams, then UC (for WVU) and BYU. My thinking is based on the fact that the Big 12 contract calls for equal pay from TV for all expansion teams. However, the new teams will not receive the money for as long as 10 years, the old teams will split it. More teams, more money for the existing members. That is what the "proposals" are all about, how long each expansion school is willing to give up the TV money. The richest schools have a leg up. There seems to be little interest in Fla. teams or MWC teams here in Texas (out of the "footprint" of the conference which hurts UConn too). Don't know about elsewhere.

I think 2 because I don't think they can agree to take 4

It's definitely not six since the word is the big 12 is now only considering 2.

Saw it on a few twitter posts I'll try and find them. In my opinion though nothing is true until it is officially confirmed.

I read that article. Doesn't say a thing about it being two. It's rather a poor turn of a phrase.
To quote, it says:
" If it's a two-school expansion, as of right now - and things are fluid and in debate and by no means final - "
Then it goes on to say:
"There is big-time discussion going on about if the league should expand by two or four."
So, it doesn't say it's going to be two, at all.
Also, I know the Big 12 told us they were planning to add 4. Doesn't mean they won't change their minds, but that's what they said. This week. Things don't change that quickly, especially not with this bunch.

Who knows how things will actually go. There is so much speculation out there that until we get something confirmed by the big 12 we should not take it to heart.

Hell, it has been that way from the beginning. One thing is clear. Nobody in the media has a clue what's going on. Last Tuesday, they all thought expansion was dead. Now they all are predicting what teams will make it, and what order they are in, lol.
