Regardless of his political lean (which is obvious), how does he decide to leave the Daily Show right before an election year?

He got sick of how partisan American politics had become.

It was a 3:1 ratio of anti-GOP stuff to anti-Democrat stuff. Why his fanboys constantly trot out this excuse of "well he did it to the Democrats too", I'll never know.

RE: I Love Jon Stewart
From April 2015:

Quote:As Jon Stewart prepares to step down as host of The Daily Show after 16 years on the job, he's speaking out about why he decided to leave the show behind.

In an interview with The Guardian, Stewart says there were a number of factors, including the desire to spend more time with his wife and their two children, ages 9 and 10. "It's not like I thought the show wasn't working any more, or that I didn't know how to do it," Stewart tells The Guardian. "It was more, 'Yup, it's working. But I'm not getting the same satisfaction.'"

It may be surprising to some longtime Daily Show fans that another reason behind Stewart's decision was a lack of enthusiasm about covering another presidential election. "I'd covered an election four times, and it didn't appear that there was going to be anything wildly different about this one," he tells The Guardian.

Yeah, my brother swore by him. Said he was the only honest one on TV, which as you know is complete bullcrap.

If you watched had his show at all, you would know that he did on plenty of occasions. No, it wasn't balanced, but he did take on the left quite a bit.

I think he decided to leave before Trump declared...and I think he probably regrets that now. 03-wink

Because he did. Why does it have to be balanced...he's a comedian, not a Fox news reporter. BOOM!

I don't think he was balanced at all, but fairness doesn't always have much to do with balance? Also, people only want fairness and balance when it's their side being "attacked".

Just because he covered and lampooned the right more than the left makes him dishonest? 01-wingedeagle

Oh please. For every 3 stories blasting the GOP with the verbal equivalent of a bazooka, he'd do 1 story blasting the Democrats with the verbal equivalent of a pea shooter.

you cannot act high and mighty if you are picking favorites. again, I like his stuff and he his a very funny guy. the nugget of truth in his presentations really drive home the point. HOWEVER, you have to watch his stuff through the lens of "he is trying to make conservatives look bad and minimize the blow for liberals"
