The Big 12 is considering expansion. Which four schools make the most sense to bring on?

– Big 12 Expansion Idea: 5 Things That Matter

The Big 12 decided it’s time to at least explore the idea of expanding after the can appeared to be kicked down the road. And why? There’s just way, way, WAY too much potential revenue to ignore.

Which four schools would be the best fit? How should Big 12 expansion work?

Big 12 Checklist:

1. Contact the PAC 12 Cali schools, gauge interest
2. Contact Colorado, see if there is any interest in coming back
3. Assuming both 1 and 2 are NO, go ahead and add UCF and Houston to get to 12
4. Set up the divisions, and reassess who you want in those divisions

Wouldn't UCF's 2015 0-12 record in the AAC including losses to Furman (FCS) and FIU hurt their cause in joining the Big 12? Just saying...

They could probably beat Kansas.

you don't try expanding based on 1 year of football....that's ridiculous

UCF also beat Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago

Is that an accomplishment? We have three or four JUCOs that could beat Kansas here.

Recent on the field success does matter some though..and you couldn't do worse than UCF. Could they compete in the B12 in 2 years? No way

Of course they could compete in a few years....they just need the right coach. Baylor is falling off from all their stuff....Texas isn't where they want to be...

That leaves OU, Okie State and TCU

Yeah just keep leaving WVU out on that island and bring in a directional school who went 0-12 last season.

West add Houston, BYU, and Colorado State.

East add Memphis; Cincinnati, and East Carolina.

I'm sure West Virginia is fine being on an island....it could be worse, they could be in the American hoping for a lifeline

judging UCF based on one season is dumb, there's no other way to describe it...UCF brings a lot more to the table than 1 bad season. Florida recruiting, nice market, huge student pop.

Bringing in an 0-12 school to a P5 is dumb. Especially when it adds another island to a conference that wants to eliminate an island.

The link is above...

I can tell you why the ACC hasn't added UCF/USF---->FSU

His picks are pretty good: Houston, UCF, USF and Cinci.

Mizzou and Colorado are not leaving. Memphis needs serious look too...but the B12 would need both USF/UCF together to get any traction in Florida.

Does ECU pay you for advertising? You put them in almost every list you've made for the last 6 years, lol.

You oughta see the check he gets from Cincinnati every time he suggests UC be an ACC member.

Fixed. If they did go for 16, I could see this happening. UConn just does not work geographically. UCF gets the league into FLA.
