Syracuse football is coming. I feel sorry for people that don't understand the sleeping giant that is Syracuse and NY football.

Good. A strong Syracuse could wake up a lot of dead interest in that part of the country.

I like the confidence, hope you're right!

BTW, how about the ACC Coaches All-Name Team: Jimbo, Dabo, Dino, and Bronco.

I hope Cuse returns to the team that Jim Brown played for soon. Because talk is cheap, so start, showing what you are preaching! 07-coffee3

I'd like your chances a lot better if you weren't located in a recruiting desert. Lots of people but not much high school talent in the Northeast.

Agreed. The ceiling at Syracuse is fairly low because of the gargantuan recruiting challenges. I don't think it will be possible for them to recruit at a national title level.

However, there's still plenty of room between that ceiling and where they've spent most of the last couple decades. I think Syracuse football can be relevant again, and agree that would be great for the ACC. And to be honest, great for college football.

Well said and I seconded! 04-rock The more teams that become competitive, the better; especially if they win big OOC games. 04-cheers

Who's doing that?

It's been my experience that the north is far more segregated than the south.

This is so true. Such a weird misconception or distorted intuition of the south. I've spent a lot of time in New Orleans. My sister worked for the paper there and I have other family in the city. Going back to pre-Katrina there isn't a more integrated, genuine and unique culture than the one that evolved on the bayou. It's changed some but that's mostly because hipster prog yanks flowed in after the hurricane.

RE: New York and the ACC
With regards to the conference, I hope that Syracuse continues to get better and better. However, I sat in the pouring rain in Jacksonville in 1996 and watched Donovan McNabb destroy my team in the Toyota Gator Bowl. I held onto that hatred for many years and it wasn't until they joined the ACC and Clemson was finally able to play them again that I was able to loosen my grip on the hate. I don't know why it stuck with me for so long, but I"m assuming the zero on the scoreboard and being absolutely soaked and miserable while watching such an ugly game had a lot to do with it. So, having said that, I don't wish for Syracuse to become a power within the conference, but I will at least wish for them to always destroy any non-conference opponent they face.
