If you guys are left behind in the Big 12 sweepstakes and the MWC has no casualties would you guys join the MWC?

RE: Houston fans
If we lose 1, no.

If we lose 4, absolutely. At least, I'd want to. UH and SMU to the Mountain division, and move Wyoming to the West.

Edit: Better yet, since it makes more sense and would probably better balance out the divisions, move Boise to the West. That way we could get Boise vs. Houston championship games.

Given his screen name, I thought this was gonna be about the Run 'N Shoot games between UNLV and UH.

Television game times and uneven revenue sharing will be some of our biggest concerns.

Um,,,wouldn't it make more sense to bring the best 4 from the mwc, excluding bsu? More money, better TV, better brands, better bball and as the last conference to renegotiate you most likely would get the ACC's old time slots for more money.

Don't worry though I think Houston is a lock for p5 inclusion. The pac12 is getting nervous. Congrats you can't lose

RE: Houston fans
I say no only because the MWC would take forever to pay back the exit fee of the AAC. I think the AAC can still be a decent league as long as we have espn. Give me UNT, USM, UNI, etc or just get us to 10 however and we can keep fielding a team.

If UH doesn't get in the b12 or p5 I'm not sure how we sustain any kind of success here. We will run out of steam if we get passed over, we arent built like boise or tcu, for UH to compete it has to make a lot of noise and stand out from the crowd and saturated market.

Depends on who leaves and if BYU isn't picked up. AAC loses 2 to 4 to big 12 and Houston and BYU aren't included in the Big 12 then Houston and BYU are in the MWC. But both Houston and BYU are probably going to big 12 making this moot.
Cheers!

I would also keep the independent option open vs joining the mwc.

Where would you put Olympic sports? I'd love that for ECU as well but there's no landing spot for our Olympic sports.

RE: Houston fans
depends, if we lost 1 ..zero percent chance

if we lost 4, we still say no, but its on a wait and see basis and what the mwc offers...no matter who we lose the AAC will still have talent

1) the mwc has uneven revenue sharing and horrible distribution of exposure.. Houston would need a special deal like boise not even out of greed but simply not to be screwed like sdsu is next season

2) the mwc is on decline, that trajectory has to change. we wont leave to die with the mwc

3) there are numerous teams with potential for the AAC to take, we likely wait it out with the new members for a few years to see how they turn out

IMO tiny chance we jump to the MWC...if we jump it is likely a scenario of a "best of the rest" conference, that removes Boise's special deal, and the mwc bad tv deal, still gives us a eastern presence and still keeps a dream of a power league for that league alive

I vote Houston should stay put. Everyone knows the Big 12 will be torn apart when the GOR ends in 2023 or 2024. Teams should elevate themselves in the AAC in preparation for a Big 12 invite then.

That would make for ridiculous travel costs.

I don't think anyone would move to the MWC. Even with 3 teams leaving the cost to change conferences for not much $ would not be feasible. And from the MWC side no add would bring in enough $ to justify going to 14 teams. Till a best of the rest senerio plays out each conference is stuck with their San ho's and toolames.

No equal revenue distribution.

End of discussion.

Signed navy with its own TV deal making more than its conference mates. Or UT Austin who makes more than all its big12 partners lol.

Navy had an existing TV deal for one game a year. When it comes up again look for it to be included into the AAC slate.

But to your point about UT that is not their Tier 1 deal. Boise is making a killing and other programs are getting chump change if anything on the MWC Tier 1 deal.

Only a Boise fan would think that TV deal is fair. Don't get me wrong you are pretty much the only thing worth watching in the MWC but that's not the point.
