A little pissed
I know everyone is scrambling for the final lifeboat......... but I was really warming up to this league as well as curious what we could have built it up to be. We were doing a great job, and I really wanted to see what kind of a TV deal we would have landed.

Never gonna know at this point, because this conference is about to become CUSA the ocho.

On another point....... if Big 12 sits on their hands and sets no time table.............. lets say they don't actually decide to pull the trigger for a year or two...... this essentially neuters our position of strength for extending the media deal. This announcement screwed the conference on so many levels, even if no move is made any time soon.

Has anyone figured out if Stay Cool wants into the AAC or not? I think he might be slightly hinting at it.

Bingo. The Land of Misfit Toys. Nobody who has any legitimate aspirations of stepping up wanted to be here.

Getting less in tv revenue than the BB only Catholics of the Big East is a laugher.

Those of us who actually were in CUSA 1.0 wished that we had 2 BCS Bowl wins, a MBB National Championship, and multiple WBB National Championships..

The AAC has been a different animal. The problem with the old CUSA was that it never broke through.

They wanted CUSA 1.0 to some degree....but then the BE called and everyone wanted to be in the BE because of the BCS. To "end" of the BE schools from CUSA 1.0 and 2.0 were migrating to that conference because of TV and BCS. Once that went down the toilet everyone in play would rather be "here" than "there."

To be blunt CUSA 1.0 was a land of misfit toys too. Football schools with no home, Catholic basketball schools, an elite Private school, a public school w/o FBS football, a military academy, not a flagship or land grant on the bunch to the best of my knowledge.

CUSA and the Big East both should be a lesson about the importance of cultural / mission similarities to long term stability.

ESPN could use a "in case so and so leave, we renegotiate" escape clause with the new contract, just like in the current one.

More accurately, nobody wanted to be in a league collecting $2 million in media rights. The league is fine. The pay is what sucks. If we were all getting $20 million, we'd be talking about football right now, not conference realignment.

I did when it was called the Big East and had a little less than half the current ACC and Notre Dame, not to mention the current Big East.
