RE: B12 expansion last train out of G5?
Boise State people keep forgetting. They do get better tv ratings and fanbase than Colorado State.

There will be more B12 additions after Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas leave.

That's likely 4 to Big 12, 2 leave Big 12 for PAC and then 2 more spots open up.
I don't see the last 2 though, simply because the Big 12 would be back at 12... Grabbing 4 now seems like a protective move for when OU and Texas leave.
And there will be a few more shifts so grabbing the "best four" out there now gives the BXII an advantage once that shifting occurs. They will be more secure and wrapped up the better candidates.

Are you off your "B12 expansion is dead" kick now? Thank goodness.

Might as well let G5 pretend to matter just for the sake of getting P5 teams more wins and keep a few extra people interested in college football. I would say last train out for 5-7 years and then things change again.
Yes, there is. They want to take over basketball and all that money, too.

People don't forget anything. It is just that, unlike you, people are smart enough to realize that college presidents are not going to add a school that is academically as far below the worst current P5 schools as those schools are below Harvard and Yale.

Number one football program number 120-125 out of 128 FBS schools academically .
Two MWC football titles since joining with no other conference titles.
Despite their tremendous football success they don't average a sell out.
What happens when they have a string of losing seasons ?
If football is all that matters they have poor recruiting grounds and the Big 12 doesn't need another school like that.

If Ohio St is the B1G, I think they could screw Cincy in all this. One call to Gee could change their fortunes. If that doesn't work, they will do something to help demote the Big 12.

Yeah, I'm aware. They've asked my wife for $$$. Still not seeing it. That's only a 30K stadium and their fanbase is relatively small.
I could see that changing. I think of they have a ton of potential in fact the most out of the all the prospects. Their state is growing fast, their school is growing fast, and their football is on the rise.
College FB on the Front Range is an after thought. The I25 corridor is a professional sports town. CU were able to get some attention when they were competing for national titles. They aren't any longer. In fact, I would guess the most popular college teams in Colorado; in order are:
1. CU (sometimes)
2. Texas
3. Texas A&M
4. Nebraska
5. Every other college attended by transplants not from TX or NE
6. Air Force
7. CSU
CSU to the Big12, no way it happens. They are where they need to be.

Thats funny, because thats what folks said about CFB in NJ/NYC. Yet here we are in the B1G.

Colorado State is not perfect BUT they're in a state with 5.4 million people more than Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming combined.
It's not a T-Shirt athletics situation in Colorado either with the Buffaloes not strong nor beloved like schools in other P5 states.
Land grants we all know are favored by the P5 regardless of how attractive that school actually is. That gives Colorado State an edge over urban schools, IMO.

BYU - football only.
Cincinnati - offer probably already sent lol.
Memphis
Houston/UCONN/Colorado State and others.
Forgot who it was, maybe McMurphy, but they said the gap between the P5 and G5 is growing so it is the last shot. 7 or 8 years and the gap will be Yuuuge.

The gap has been growing since the NCAA vs. Oklahoma decision.
Before that it wasn't about conferences so much as programs like Nebraska hording players.
The gap is accelerating exponentially no doubt about that. Particularly this decade.

I pointed this out on Reddit a while back and got downvoted to hell. Boise State needs about half a billion more dollars in their endowment fund and half a billion more in yearly expenditures before they catch up to the worst P5 schools.
People are so out of touch in Idaho that they think gaining Carnegie R3 status means they caught up. WTF?

Boise State is going add more research academics, and a possible medical school in the future in Boise. That would mean more money coming in for the school for the research academics.
