If any C-USA teams are chosen, all of the conference wins! Less mouths to feed...unless the conference makes a dumb decision of adding more teams.05-nono

your administration will...

lets say the AAC losses (cincy, memphis and houston)

that means you join a league that plays uconn, temple smu tulsa in basketball teams that are capable of drawing over 40k in football when winning in ucf/usf/ecu and a historic brand in navy

no matter who is taken there will still be lobbying and lining up to get in

ODU absolutely would. ECU, Navy &Temple are all closer than any CUSA school to us and would draw well in the area.

the large subsidy is to look pretty for the p5
and i know your comment was a jab, but i answered a question that was asked, all because you didnt like the answer, which is just the truth, that doesn't mean to get your panties in a bunch

What makes the AAC attractive to WKU is having Memphis and Cinncy, that would be the closest schools to us other than MT currently. Those two leave it makes a harder sale for WKU to want to move

I'm gonna tell you exactly what they do. They don't expand. The Big XII needs to expand for the playoffs but the AAC has no real chance. They can get the Champ game at 10 teams so they don't expand in the foreseeable unless they fall to 9.

Oh and if I'm Mike Hamrick I'm calling ECU asking for them to deny teams that aren't Marshall. Hamrick and Marshall both have history with ECU.

I agree. I'm not even holding my breath about the big12 to be honest.

Based on what I'm hearing.....BYU, Cinci, Memphis and......UConn. A little surprised to hear UConn but the connection and push is coming from ESPN. And lets not forget....ESPN headquarters is in Bristol Connecticut.

I can't see WKU being a candidate for any other conference. Just not going to happen. Regardless of multi-sport performance, having no market nullifies our prospects. We are what we are....

If the B12 does take four and three of them are from the AAC (Cincy, Memphis, Houston, or possibly USF) then the AAC likely backfills 1-3 schools from C-USA. The real question is what would Marshall do should USM, ODU and possibly MTSU go to the AAC? Would Marshall then look at the playing field and decide to return to the MAC? I think so.

Which is why I think the Sunbelt becomes a midsouth region and CUSA becomes Mideast region

It's too logical...thus it won't happen. A realignment of remaining C-USA and SBC into two more geographically logical conferences makes too much sense.

You do realize the reason you gave for Western would also be the reason S. Miss and MUTS would not get a invite? Honestly I think schools in the G5 have seen markets are just not that important. The money has dried up...at least enough that matters for the G5's. If they haven't then we are looking at FIU, Rice and ODU or UNCC and no one else.

At this point if the AAC loses 3 schools they will be looking for 1 possibly 2 out of the 3 to fill a void on the field and court. With Memphis, Cincy and Houston leaving and especially if Uconn also the AAC would be just a awful basketball conference.

Yes, I realized that when I wrote it. I should have added that Marshall and USM have the one advantage of having history with those AAC schools and in their eyes, they have name recognition. MTSU has Nashville.

But you're right about basketball. If AAC loses Cincy, Memphis, UCONN and/or Houston, it becomes a miserable basketball conference and I'd want nothing to do with it.

Houston isnt going anywhere. BYU is the only school that adds value currently but Cincy has the potential. I think it will be two BYU and Cincy. AAC stays put because G5 TV are nothing compare to P5 and will not be growing after Cincy leaves

RE: So Which 2 (or 3 or 4) Will Be in the AAC for 2017?
I hope it ends up where we are in a conference of similar schools within a conference that makes geographic sense. Out of the current CUSA the most similar are USM, WKU, Middle and La Tech. App State lines up well with that group as does Ga Southern and Ark St. Add UAB, which is different, but still a great fit. The logical choice for the tenth, and their fans will scoff, is ECU.

That's a pretty good collection of "big fish in small pond" athletic programs. Public schools in smaller towns that are supported by their communities. Everybody in that group has several schools they have history with, people the fans know and have an opinion of, and it would be some pretty good football. Hard to spot a gimme anywhere on the schedule.

Oh, let's don't do this. No one in C-USA has any control over any of this. Let's just be content trying to improve our product for the moment that is 2016/17.
