Stories about other schools
Guys,
We need to be cognizant of something. Coverage these days is often driven by mouse clicks... so every time we click on a story about UH, we're driving more stories to them. That is (in part) why bombastic headlines work. Supporters want to see 'good news' about their team, and 'detractors' want to read it to find ways to shoot holes in it.

Rather than just posting links on stories about other teams, I encourage us all to post the links, plus the pertinent quotes and/or address them in your post... so the link is there for those that really want it, but you don't NEED to click the link to know what the story is about.

For Rice stories, of course the opposite would be true. Encourage clicks.

It's named for Joe Rice, a Charleston lawyer -- "Rice shook down Big Tobacco for nearly $250 billion, brokered billions more in asbestos suits and has represented clients whose family members died aboard the Sept. 11 flights." -- who's donated more than $5 million to the Gamecocks in the past decade.

RE: Stories about other schools
I regret that my comments lead to clicks for Carolina, Rick Perry and the SEC... and in other threads for Art Briles.

Please... quote the pertinent parts of the stories so that we don't have to give them even MORE attention just to see what our 'friends' are talking about.

Like this

http://blog.chron.com/foodchronicles/201...estaurant/

Quote:Gatlin’s BBQ is growing up. The family-owned business that has been a local barbecue success story since it opened in June 2010 has long since outgrown its tiny storefront at 1221 W. 19th St. Now it is eying a larger location for its honest, homey barbecue that comes with a huge side order of hospitality.

This week the Gatlin family intends to sign a lease to open a much larger barbecue restaurant at 3510 Ella Boulevard at 34th Street, said Greg Gatlin who owns the business with his parents, Mary and Henry Gatlin.
.

(although I'm happy driving clicks for Gatlins... I just didn't even want to give ONE click to anyone else that I didn't need to)
