RE: Big 12 Expanding After All?
There is a part of me that believes they want to get get in the sec tv market and we're the best option outside the cheating U_Fs Memphis too. If they add Tulane it will kill the conference.

My guess if they take two, it will be Cincinnati and BYU. BYU is like a mini-Notre Dame with its nationwide Mormon fanbase.
If they take four, it will be Cincinnati, BYU, Memphis and Central Florida. Memphis because Fedex is willing to open the pocketbooks to get Memphis in a Power conference and Central Florida so the Big 12 can get into the Florida market.
I think Texas will block Houston
I dont think they take four just yet maybe two now and two for 2025
If its truely about adding good football teams which it is not (1/6 of it is, since Tulane is an option). Boise shouldve been first.

Depends. If they think another round of this is coming in the next few years they might decide to pull the trigger on a couple of programs that might be enticing to others at that time.

Our TV market is probably why C-Usa's TV deal is so crappy. Why would anyone put in a good bid without Birmingham sitting at the table. We can sell the TV market and new football construction to the Big 12. It would be nice to have a good coach and team on the field also. FU Ray Watts.

Agree and disagree. While you're right the current demand doesn't much reflect demand for UAB it DOES show there is strong demand. Let's face it, between our horrible record for the last 10+ years (2014 excluded) and being in a conference with folks that no one here cares a rip about we've really suffered for exposure and every other metric.
Fast forward 5 years. Now we're in the Big12 with Oklahoma coming to town. That completely changes the dynamic. Not saying it will happen but if we're not satisfied with where we are why not give it a shot?

It shows that people in Birmingham watch college football. UAB got decent ratings in Birmingham and that increases our value to the AAC

Put UAB in the Big 12, and Birmingham will tune in to watch UAB. Birmingham is a football market, it might not reach SEC levels but it will be high. I have seen numbers from our games on ASN and other channels and Birmingham for UAB did as well or better than most games.

I wonder how losing teams would affect the new CUSA contract...

RE: Big 12 Expanding After All?
I also believe the Big 12 will expand by 4 and those will be urban site universities in major metro centers. Places like Orlando, Memphis, Houston, Cinncy, Salt Lake City and such are the new hot expansion sites for all conferences adding nontraditional schools. I don't believe Boise, Hattiesburg, Huntingdon and such will be invited to the "big boy" table. UCONN might be a lone exception due to the dense population of New England.
