They will prolly take 2: Houston & BYU....

And I've no doubt that had the ACC not come along and UofL were still sitting on the sidelines right now....they'd still be sitting on the sidelines after the B-12 makes their choices here shortly.

So yea----**** 'em

THANK YOU ACC!!!!!

Let's do some what if....

What if The Big 12 had taken Louisville instead of The Islandeers?
Would UConn be in The ACC?

What if UConn had been invited instead of Louisville?
Would The ACC have been able to get FSU and Clemson to sign a GOR?

What if The ACC did not have GOR?
Would ACC teams have already jumped to The Big 12 (FSU, Clemson), Big Ten (UVa, UNC, Duke, Ga Tech), SEC (Va Tech, NC State) ?

I just don't believe you can definitively say Louisville would still be on the sideline without that ACC invite in November 2012. Too many what ifs......

There's virtually no scenario that would see UConn in the ACC AND the ACC keep FSU.

I think that's overstating things. There are plenty of realistic scenarios in which Connecticut could join the ACC and all of its current members stay put. UConn is being SEVERELY undersold by many, many posters.

I am not sure if you understand bad UConn buried itself with that lawsuit. BC is one thing but the way UConn and their representatives treated ACC officials and donors behind the scenes when they were trying to hash the lawsuit out was really bad. That is why there is no chance for UConn to enter the ACC. There isn't any votes for them.

The State of Connecticut did overstep its boundaries in regard to BC. It was one thing to sue the ACC for harming the Big East (that was just business, not personal). However, personally suing Father Leahy and Gene DeFillipo of BC wasn't the smartest move in retrospect.

Let's also keep in perspective that "UConn" didn't sue anyone. The lawsuits were spearheaded by Richard Blumenthal (then the Attorney General of CT) who was trying to make a name for himself in politics. UConn as a university had nothing to do with filing any lawsuits or pushing that agenda.

"UConn" never once did anything to "ACC official and donors" - that type of claim requires a link as I don't believe that it ever happened.

Texas could be the same. However, the ACC would proceed with more caution. Texas as a university has no real morals, so the ACC would need to put in some contractual things to protect themselves.

The ACC could use Texas the same way they use ND, the only difference is the ACC could give two poops about the internal politics in Texas.

Let's face it UT has a horrible track record of getting along with others. I think the ACC could pretend and act in awe of Texas and allow them to act as they are big stuff and posture in the ACC kinda like ND and we could stroke their ego while going to the bank.

UT and ND want to feel important, let's let them think they are important and use them to fund the payroll.

The beauty is we all know the reality of the truth. :)

ND uses the ACC too. It is a two way street. It is funny to see posters think that ND doesn't know exactly what it wants, what the landscape is and how to negotiate to its advantage.

I am plenty aware of ND's agenda and have no problem with it. The same to be true if Texas is in the fold.

It is more about stroking the egos of ND, if that is what it takes to have a few more bucks thrown the ACC's way I am all for it.

Kinda liked your reply, you need to be confirmed that ND is all knowing. If it makes you feel better, they are. :)

It's called a mutually beneficial relationship, yes?

I needed no confirmation from you.

I just wanted to point out the fallacy in your "boy, we fleeced those guys by stroking their ego" post.
