Question for UC fans
ohio state RB from ohio Bri'onte Dunn just got dismissed from ohio state

looks like he got in an argument with his girl this weekend, said something that set her off and she filed a restraining order. no criminal case or anything but that caught the news so they dismissed him

the thing is he technically already graduated and can be a grad transfer

he was the favorite to start for ohio state at rb, a former top 100 all-american, with 1 year immediate eligibility

should cincy go after him? i feel they can get him if they want and reach out (offcourse after vetting)

RE: question for uc fans
RB is one of our best position groups. We haven't done a lot of this (taking troubled cast-offs) and I don't think it's a clear fit for our football team to make it worth it. I'd probably pass.

It's an interesting idea though with him being from Ohio

We are loaded at RB for the next 4-5 years.

Dunn has been in and out of trouble the past four years. He is from Northeast Ohio. My guess is he winds up at Youngstown State, which is the usual landing spots for guys from that area who get in trouble either off the field or academically.

Edit: I would also add that despite my overall dissatisfaction with Tommy Tuberville, he has demonstrated that he will not take guys with known drug/alcohol issues. He also has kicked those type off the field once their issue is known.

RE: Question for UC fans
just to play devil advocate here

cincy is in the most critical era of its history where winning is vital, another bad season could honestly jeopardize cincy's future in power conference

i could argue if cincy had finished top 15 the last 2 years theyd already be in the big 12 who says they want a tcu like team that wins

you are loaded at rb but boone is a scatback (small, fast shifty) and greene is the only true powerback you have and lets not act like he was breaking tackles left and right

dunn is a true powerback and a bulldozer..bringing a new element cincy doesnt have adding another dimension to your offense especially on critical short yardage

..the remaining rb depth are mostly freshmen, who could benefit from another year of development

again meyer in just march said he saw dunn as a starter for them .. if uc has a special year next year with dunn playing a major role, which pushes your big 12 agenda, will you care that you took a chance on a noncriminal kid for 1 year before your younger guys step in?

lol honestly im just playing devils advocate i don't care either way

RE: Question for UC fans
Bringing in Dunn would be counter-productive. You undersell Green and his capability. In addition, the best running back/powerback in the spring game was the guy from Indiana(name escapes me). A small caveat, Boone was yellow shirted for the game.

RE: Question for UC fans
There isn't a need. The offensive line is upgraded, a more balanced approach, and both Boone and Green will do well.

Dunn will add more headache then good.

why? our projected top 3 rb have 3 years eligibility and are mostly powerbacks...

and i was literally about to write that he has no connection to Houston or UH why would we go after him ..but i remembered that Herman was his OC for 3 years at ohio state...

our roster is full either way, we had to pass up a 4star wr who wanted to transfer to Houston from LSU..but i wouldn't be shocked if he reached out to us

Expansion rule number one: winning big does not mean as much as other things. It is a factor but not very high on the totem pole.

winner isnt everything but its a big factor...cincy has a lot of the other aspects and are missing what could push them over the top

in the big 12 meetings last month, numerous ADs ecos the same message that whoever they add must be a winner and they were looking a team that followed the tcu mold (elite in the mwc) im almost certain if cincy had finished top 15 the last 2 years they are in the big 12..

RE: Question for UC fans
to answer the OP, No

Urban M. runs a dirty program and if he actually dismissed somebody, you can be sure there is more to the story than what you said was the reason. This kid is either about to get into major trouble, has some injury, has some addiction, or lost 10 seconds on his 40. Point is, if he was worth a darn and/or if this was 'all there was' to the story, he wouldn't have been let go I can assure you.

so, NO, we don't want him

4 years ago Dunn got pulled over one night while driving erratically (he was driving his mother's car). Cop found a nice stash of weed on him along with a bowl. OSU initially suspended him.

He argued someone else must have left it there. He first blamed it on his girlfriend but she denied it was hers. Later his mother fell on the sword for him. He was only cited for disorderly conduct and OSU immediately lifted his suspension (before he actually served any of it).

Kid is bad news. As I posted earlier we are fine at RB. If kid was a WR, OL or played defense we would probably look into it.

RE: Question for UC fans
If anything maybe this will help us just a little when we play tOSU. Our defense needs all the help it can get anyways.
