As a Pitt fan, I favor staying at eight league games. However, I would like to sign a long-term home/home agreement with West Virginia that would serve as a de facto 9th permanent game on the schedule like Georgia Tech, Florida State, Clemson and Louisville have.
To be completely honest, I would rather have that agreement with Penn State. However, the Nittany Lions have made it clear that they have no interest participating in such an agreement so WVU will have to do.
Hell, in a perfect world, I'd play them both every year. But to do that we can't be locked into a ninth conference game.

It's sounds like we are staying at 8 games for now or until ND joins. As McMurphy pointed out, with 9 conference games, a rival & when you play ND that's 11 games. It doesn't leave enough scheduling flexibility.

I'm fine with 8, UNC can continue scheduling Wake out of conference for a P5 game.

Do you think 9 fb games? 20 BB games?

Under consideration, but not prerequisite.

Makes sense.
If the ACC needs 10 P5 games per year, I'd rather see them increase the OOC requirement to TWO P5's instead of one (even if they have to allow some ACC as OOC games, like UNC/Wake).

Given our set up an agreement with Notre Dame, nine conference games would be complicated. I'm not sure it can work in the current climate?
However, I don't think 20 men's basketball games per year is the worst idea in the world. It would probably help with everyone's RPI and it would definitely be better for the fan.
There are just so many rent-a-wins on a college basketball schedule that it's not really worth going sometimes. I have Pitt season tickets and I must admit that I don't start going to the games until league play starts in late December.
Also, college basketball schedules are much more flexible than college football schedules so there is some wiggle room here.

I agree.
