Again, this is what you want to believe. The polls dont reflect it. The gop is winning moderates. You are gonna have to do better than this to get such an unlikable character as hillary elected. Bill runs away with this election. Hillary not so much.

I think you are missing the point. It isn't that the speech fiasco is going to move the needle to the Ds. It is that a great opportunity for Trump to move the needle was wasted with this fiasco.

Its only a fiasco to those that are set in stone dems. We shall see.

What polls are you talking about? Clinton has a big advantage with college educated whites, women, hispanics, African Americans. Trump has a big advantage with white males and whites without college. Can you point to something that indicates moderates moving in the trump direction? Which moderates, Democrats, independents? Maybe I'm missing something.

Why is CNN beating up on a woman? What is their motivation? It doesn't come across very well. I thought it was a well delivered speech.

I have one question. I didn't watch the speech, as the more political conventions I watch, the more convinced I become that watching them is a waste of time. I've never heard anything at a convention that changed my mind about how to vote.

My question, therefore, is was this segment the only part that is alleged to be plagiarized, or was a much larger part of the speech equally similar to the Michelle Obama speech?

I guess I have one other question, why in the world would anybody want to use anything from Michelle Obama, of all people?

She'll have the best first lady ass in history.

One thing is for sure....No one there last night heard the the Obama speech. No one cares.

The major problem remains that the opening day of the convention was an absolute TRAINWRECK. If you can't effectively put on a convention, how exactly are you supposed to run a country? Make no mistake, this is the nominee's show and their team is responsible for everything. I'm guessing the RNC is much more heavily involved than usual, which doesn't make them look good either.

At the time delivered, Mrs. Trump's speech was the highlight of the night given the obvious curve she deserved to be graded on. Hours after it was delivered, it became a huge club that Clinton and other Democrats are going to beat the Trump campaign with over and over.

For the record, I don't think she wrote it. Whoever wrote it did her a huge disservice and embarrassed her. Being thrown into this situation is bad enough and she should have been protected by those around her. She deserved better.

The late night shows are going to have a field day with this. It's already blowing up on the internet and it's going to be used for material from pretty much everyone.

The plagiarism itself might not be a big deal but it continues to show that the Trump campaign doesn't know what they are doing. Same with Kasich being made relevant for the first time in 2 months.

True, plagiarizing the first lady was not smart. But a real campaign would fire the writer in the middle of the night, blame him, and be done with it.

I heard audio played side by side on the radio this morning. In a couple areas, it felt like just an overlap of themes. But, yeah, some lines are areas were near verbatim.

Whoever wrote it - whether it was her or a speech writer - deserves some mocking. It's fine to draw inspiration from others' speeches, but you wade into unethical territory when you mirror it so closely.

While I think this as a "controversy" is relatively stupid. If this was a college essay said student would be in serious ****. I don't see how anyone can deny this as plagiarism.
